The meeting was held at the South. Lansing Town Hall at 8 P.M. with Supervisor Dates presiding. ROLL CALL Harris B. Thompson, Jr. Present Peace Present Peace Present Present Present ntendent Present Present The Supervisor opened the meeting having the clerk take the roll call and read the minutes of the last meeting. - Minutes approved'as read. The Supervisor opened the meeting for discussion and action to be taken on Water District #1. Mr. Thomas Miller, Engineer, reported that engineering plans for laying out water mains from the Cornell University - Tompkins County Airport water supply to the Dart Road and St. Joseph's Lane area had been submitted to the State Water Resources Commission. After much discussion by the board, the following resolution was offered. RESOLUTION by Mr. Kidney and seconded by Mr. Spry: WHEREAS, Lansing Water District No. 1 has been formed under Article 12_a of the Town Law by resolution dated April 20, 1965; and WHEREAS, authorization from the State Comptroller for formation of the district was given on June 30 ,1965; and WHEREAS, the Water Resource Commission of the State of New York has approved the acquisition of a source of water supply for the benefit of Lansing Water District No. 1 by decision dated September 1, 1965; and WHEREAS one of the conditions set forth in the dec Resource Commission states that "prior to extending the mains into the area now served by the system of Lansing the town shall acquire, either through negotiation with appropriate legal proceedings any parts of the complete corporation that are used and useful in providing water ision of the Water supply and distribution Water Works Corporation, the company or through plant and system of that service "; and WHEREAS the town has attempted to negotiate a purchase price for those parts of Lansing Water Works System which would be useful to the town in providing water service; and WHEREAS the town has been unable to reach an agreed figure with the Lansing Water Works Corporation; and WHEREAS it is necessary for the town to acquire said system prior to extending the supply and distribution mains into the area now served by the Lansing Water Works Corporation as aforesaid; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board finds it necessary to acquire parts of the Lansing Water Works Corporation's system for the benefit of Lansing Water District No. 1; and be it further RESOLVED, that Thomas G. Miller, town engineer, is hereby authorized to do the preliminary work pre - requisite to commencing condemnation proceedings against the Lansing Water Works Corporation; and be it further RESOLVED, that the town's attorney be and he hereby is authorized and directed to prepare the necessary comdemnation proceedings for the condemnation . of the said Lansing Water Works Corporation, and be it further + RESOLVED, that the supervisor of the town is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the town all papers necessary relative to said condemnation. MOTION by Mr. Kidney, seconded by Mr. Howell: That the Town Highway Superintendent accept Highway Dedication from James Nedrow, subject to Earl Larsen deeding permanent easement of at least 20, wide to the cottage owners. Mr. Spry reported that a Rabies Clinic would be held at the South Lansing Fire Hall on October 4th from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M. The Highway Superintendent reported that he had received an offer of $1200.00 for the old Huff Loader- and asked the advice of the Board.
