HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-02-16February 16, 1965 The Lansing Town Board met in an adjourned meeting as called by the Supervisor at the adjournment of the February 9th meeting. The meeting was held at the Lansing Town Hall at 8 P.M. with Supervisor Dates presiding. Bush ROLL CALL Visitors: Frank Liguori and Arthur Shull. Supervisor Dates asked Atty. Williamson to explain in detail the map and plans relating to the establishment of Lansing Sewer Dist. #1. An open discussion followed at which time Mr. Schull informed the Board that the reason Howard Johnson's Motor Inn Complex was not included in this Sewer District was that they did not wish to commit themselves to the financial obligation at this time and also when they purchased the site for their construction, it was stipulated by the seller that they would be provided with sewerage disposal. Mr. Liguori spoke in behalf of the Tompkins Co. Health Dept. and stated that they appreciated Mr. Shulls position but could all concerned afford the delay in not completing all the mechanics at this time? He urged Mr. Shull to carefully reconsider his position in order to avoid a crisis which may be unpleasant for all concerned.. Mr. Shull's final decision was to have the Howard Johnson's Motor Inn Complex be included as part of the proposed Dist. #1 and share the cost of same. It was the decision of the Board to modify the order of Lansing Sewer Dist. #1, to include Howard Johnson'.s Motor Inn Complex. RESOLUTION by Mr. Spry and seconded by Mr. Howell. RESOLVED that the Supervisor be instructed to sign contract with the City of Ithaca in behalf of the Town of Lansing for McKinney water service. Mr. Liguori explained He said bulldozers must be moneys must be budgeted in Dept. asks all towns to co not:improve, more forceful Carried all present voted Aye. the undesirable situation existing at the town dumps: used, dumps are to be fenced in, appropriate sums of order to maintain dumps properly. The Public Health operate voluntarily but if the present situation does action will be taken. MOTION by Mr. Howell and seconded by Mr. Spry: After advertising for bids and none received, to accept the one original bid in the amount of $25.00 for the old heating unit and furnace as is. Carried all present voted Aye: RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Spry and seconded by Mr. Ferris: RESOLVED that the Highway Superintendent be instructed to post roads pursuant to Sec. 1660, Par. 11, of the Vehicle & Traffic Law of the State of New York. Carried all present voted Aye. The Board instructed the Highway Supte to draw up specifications for roads to be constructed by new builders. Mr. Tarbell informed the meeting with them concerning L4 * Board that ihe State men would be setting up a assessments for the town. Meeting adjourned at 10:30 P.M.
