HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964-10-06October 6, 1964 The Lansing Town Board met in an adjourned meeting as called by the Supervisor at the adjournment of the September 29th meeting. The meeting was held at the Lansing Town Hall at 7:30 P.M. with Supervisor Dates presiding. The Supervisor opened the meeting with the Roll Call and having the clerk read the minutes of the September meetings. Approved as read. MOTION made by Mr. Howell, seconded by Mr. Ferris, that the following persons be appointed to the Lansing Town Park Commission to serve-for the following terms of office: Jan. 1, 1965 to Dec. 31, 1965 Royal Keller - Jan. 1, 1965 to Dec. 31, 1966 Dr. DeCamp Jan. 1, 1965 to Dec. 31, 1967 James Cirona Jan. 1, 1965 to Dec. 31, 1968 jeisse- Selemen :9 ry k AU Acl y Jan. 1, 1965 to*Dec. 31, 1969 Paul Trinkl Carried all present voted Aye. MOTION made by Mr. Spry, seconded by7Mr. Kidney, that Paul Mikula be appointed as a second Constable. Carried all present voted Aye. MOTION by Mr. Spry and seconded by Mr. Kidney: That Christine Edsall -be appointed Alternate Inspector for Dist. #2, and Matthew Christopher be-appointed Alternate Inspector for Dist. #5, term expiring July 15, -1965. ORDER OF TOWN BOARD SPECIFYING TIME AND PLACE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ESTABLISHMENT OF WATER DISTRICT was duly adopted at this meeting of October 6, 1964. Said order attached hereto and made a part thereof. After discussion on lights at Triphammer and Warren intersections on Route 13, the following resolution was made. RESOLUTION by Mr. Kidney and seconded by Mr. Howell: RESOLVED, that the Town Board made --a contract with Gas & Electric to install 6. 20,000 lumen lights at Warren Road intersection and 7_20,000 lumen lights at Triphammer intersection. The next item for the Board to consider was the compiling of the Preliminary Budget. Clerk presented the estimates filed with her. After considerable study by the Board Members and Highway Superintendent, the Preliminary Budget was ready for adoption and. date of hearing to be set thereon. �.1 RESOLUTION by Mr. Spry, seconded by Mr. Howell: RESOLVED, that this Town Board does hereby prepare and approve as the preliminary budget of this Town for the fiscal year beginning on the lst day of January 1965, the itemized statement of estimated revenues and expenditures hereto attached and made a part of this resolution, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that such preliminary budget shall be filed in the office of the Town Clerk where it shall be available for inspection by any interested person at all reasonable hours, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Board shall meet at 8:00 o'clock P.M. on the 5th day of November, 1964, for the purpose of holding a public hearing upon such preliminary budget, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk give notice of such public hearing in the manner provided in Section 113 of the Town Law, and that such notice be published and posted in substantially the following form: NOTICE OF HEARING UPON PRELIMINARY BUDGET FOR TOWN OF LANSING FOR YEAR 1965 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the preliminary budget of the Town of Lansing, Tompkins County, New York for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 1965, has been completed and filed in the office of the Town Clerk of said Town at South Lansing in Said Town, where it is available for inspection by any interested person at all reasonable hours. , FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN thatothe Town Board of said Town of Lansing will meet and review said preliminary budget'and* hold a public hearing thereon at 8:00 o'clock P.M. on the 5th day of November 1964, and that at such hearing any person may be heard in favor of or against the preliminary budget as compiled or for or against any item or items therein contained.
