HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964-09-29i ti September 29, 1964 The Lansing Town Board met in an adjourned meeting as called by the Supervisor at the adjournment of the September 8th meeting. The meeting was held at the Lansing Town Hall at 7 :30 P.M. with Supervisor Dates presiding. Said meeting included a Public Hearing for the establishment of a Lansing Town Park Commission. Present Town Attorney Present Clerk Present The Supervisor opened the meeting with the Roll Call and with the approval of the Board, dispensed with the reading of the September minutes. The Supervisor introduced Attorney Williamson who read Local Law No. 1 concerning the establishment of a Lansing Town Park Commission. The Supervisor opened the public hearing on said Local Law No. 1. Paul Uher spoke in favor of the park and stated the Town Board should be commended on taking early steps in this project. Mrs. William L. Brown agreed with his comments. George Gyrisco suggested a show of hands by the visitors and all were in favor of a Lansing Town Park Commission. The following resolution was then made: RESOLUTION by Mr. Ferris and seconded by Mr. Spry: RESOLVED. that the "Lansing Tom Park Comm made a part thereof. Said Local Law #1 attached hereto and . .Aye Harris B. Mr. Dates introduced Thomas G. Miller, Engineer, who presented his preliminary report, as authorized by the Lansing Town Board. The purpose of said report was to study and recommend a plan for providing public water service to the south end of Lansing. Mr. Miller explained his report in detail,, which included three stages which he recommended in the development program. The Supervisor opened the discussion to the Board and the visitors attending. Much discussion followed. The meeting was adjourned until October 6ths7 :30,P.M.
