The Lansing Town Board met in regular session at the Lansing Town Hall on
August 11, 1964 at 8 :00 P.A. with Supervisor Dates presiding.

The Supervisor opened the meeting.with the Roll-Call and with the approval
of the Board, dispensed with the reading of the July meeting.
RESOLUTION by Mr. Howell and seconded by Mr. Kidney:
RESOLVED, that the official 5th District po1.ling place.: be 'chan'ged!' -from the
Gibbs School House tothe Tompkins County Trust Company Branch Office at
the Triphammer Shopping Center.
Carried, all present voted Aye.
Mr. Dates announced that this year the people will register where they
vote and they will be. advised by newspaper, radio, and other means of communica.
tion. m .
Discussion on Swayze Road extension followed. Mr. Farka objected to the
shutting off the hill. The Board members do not want the responsiblity of the
dangerous hill. Discussion on possibility of partial disbandment of the road
followed. Mrs. Swayze questioned the Board on the new road on width, turn- about,
plowing of the road,etc. Mr. Farkas said he would give permission to cross
his land as long as he has a parking lot built to replace the one he now has.
Mt. Dates introduced Mr. Thomas Miller, Engineer. Mr. Williamson explained
the petition.that had been presented for the Dart Water area. Mr. Miller feels
that the area should be enlarged bb include the Triphammer and Schoenfeld
Developments. He explained that this would be a more economically sound policy
for the rapidly developing commercial and residential areas in the south end
of the Town, He estimated that the preliminary plans and engineering report
could be completed by October 1, 1964 for an additional fee of $600.00,
RESOLUTION by Mr. Howell, seconded by Mr. Spry:
WHEREAS, this Board approved the expenditure of $750, for preparation of
taps and plans re; a Dart Road Water District, and
WHEREAS, the Town Engineer, Thomas G. Miller, has recommended additional
studies regarding the enlargement of said proposed district, and has submitted
a proposal for preparing the necessary maps and plans for said enlarged water
district to cost an additional $600;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board authorizes the expenditure of
an additional $600 to pay for the cost of preparing maps and plans regarding
the proposed water district in the Dart Road area, it being understood that'
said expense shall be charged to the district when formed.
This resolution is adopted subject to a permissive referendum.

A letter put on file with clerk from Mr. Thomas Miller.
A discussion on Sewage problems followed,
he and Town Attorney, Mr. Williamson would meet
Cayuga Heights on August 12, 1964, and ask for
disposal facilities in the area.

AUDIT RESOLUTION by Mr. Howell and seconded by Mr. Kidney:
RESOLVED that General Fund bills # 173 through # 192 totalling $ 2,.912.94
and Highway bills # 179 through # 209 totalling $11,240.73, be and the same
are hereby approved for payment. 0
Carried all present voted Aye.
Supervisor read draft by Town Attorney Williamson to establish a local law
to form a Park Commission to operate the Town Park. The Supervisor asked the
Board to study it and report next regular meeting their views and suggestions.
Mr. Howell introduced same and layed it on desk of members.
