The Lansing Town Board met in regular session at the Lansing Town Hall on
September*8, 1964 at 8:00 P.M. with Supervisor Dates presiding.

The Supervisor opened the meeting with the roll call and having the clerk
read the minutes of the August meetings. No corrections. .
Approved as read,
Mr. Talandis was introduced.by the Supervisor. Mr. Talandis requested
for a sewer district in the southern part of Lansing, east of Graham Road,
consisting generally of the area presently owned by Lansing Development Corp.
and Votopka, comprising of approximately 53. acres. .After considerable
discussion with the O'Brien and Gere engineers and the Town Board, the
following resolution was made:
RESOLUTION by Mr. Ferris and seconded by Mr.-Spry :.
WHEREAS, the Town Board has received a request for the formation of a
sewer district in the southern part of the Town of Lansing, consisting
generally of the area presently owned by Lansing Development Corp. and
Votopka comprising of approximately 53 acres; and
WHEREAS, the firm of O'Brien and Gere, Syracuse, New York, has submitted
a proposal for engineering services in connection with the formation of said
proposed sewer - district;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, pursuant to Section 209 -b of the Town Law
that the town appropriate the sum of $600.00 to pay for the cost of performing
the necessary engineering services for the formation of the proposed sewer
district; and be it further
RESOLVED,.that the said cost shall be charged to the sewer district
when formed; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Town Board retains the firm of O'Brien & Gere to
perform said engineering services at the above specified amount; and be it
further
RESOLVED, that the Supervisor of the town be and he hereby is authorized
and.directed to execute a contract with the said O'Brien & Gere on behalf of
the town; and be it further
RESOLVED, that this resolution is subject to a permissive referendum.

Clerk directed to immediately post notice on Town sign board that said
resolution was duly adopted, also advertise in the Ithaca Journal.
The Supervisor called a special meeting of the Board for Tuesday,
September 29th, 1964 at 7:30 P.M. at Lansing Town Hall to conform with the
Budget Law in filing estimates and any other business that may need action.
Clerk advised the Board that Highway Superintendend had advertised for
bids asi authorized at the August 20th meeting, for.snow plow wing to,fit
Austin Western Grader, and bids to be opened publicly Sept. 8th, 1964 at 8:30 P.M.
The Supervisor asked.for the opening of the bids.
Clerk advised that only one bid was received which was from Charles J.
Blackwell, Inc. Horseheads, N.Y.. Bid read as follows:
One New Austin Western Snow Wing, hydraulically controlled with down pressure,
Blade length 14 ft., height of blade on outer end 37', height of blade inner
end 3', blade thickness ,—, ", cutting edge 13'. Height cutting edge inner end 515 ",
height cutting edge outer end with inner end down 812 ". Blade with attaching
parts will weigh :.3,450 lbs. Wing is manufactured by same manufacturer of grader.
Wing can be delivered and mounted on your grader for the sum of $2,12500.
After discussion the following resolution made:
RESOLUTION by Mr. Rowell and seconded by Mr. Ferris:
The Highway Superintendent be instructed to purchase Snow Wing from
Charles J. Blackwell, Inc., in the amount of $2,125.00 and delivery date.
by January 15, 1965.

RESOLUTIONI by Mr. Spry and seconded by Mr. Kidney:
The Highway Superintendent be authorized and directed to attend Highway
Superintendents meeting at Messena, New York and all necessary expenses become
a town charge.
Carried all present voted Aye.
The Supervisor was instructed to contact the State Highway Dept., Mr. Tolson
of the Syracuse Office in regards to engineering and safety factors to Route 13
crossings of N. Triphammer, Warren and Brown Roads.
A Public Hearing is scheduled for Sept. 29, 1964, 7:30 P.M. at the Lansing
Town Hall for the establishment of a Lansing Town Park Commission.,
Clerk directed to post notice on Town sign board and advertise in Ithaca Journal.
Supervisor presented I his monthly report and explained same in. detail. Filed
report with clerk.
AUDIT RESOLUTION by Mr. Spry and seconded by Mr. Kidney:
RESOLVED that General Fund bills # 193 through # 203 totalling $ 2,269.41
and Highway bills # 210 through # 21`54 totalling $ 23,833.48 be and the same
are hereby approved for payment.
Carried all present voted Aye.
Motion made by Mr. Kidney and seconded by Mr.. Ferris the meeting be
adjourned until September 29th. . . . . . . . •
