The Lansing Town Board met in regular session at the South Lansing Town Hall
on March 16., 1964 at 8 P.M., with Supervisor Harris Dates presiding.

The Supervisor opened the meeting with the roll call and having the
Clerk read the minutes of thetFebruary 18th meeting. No corrections.
Approved as read.
Clerk presented bills for Audit,
The Supervisor introduced Mr. Schoenfeld, his Atty. Harry Hamilton and
Atty. Manley Thaler. They were concerned regarding a prior commitment made
by the Town. Board on October 1,-1955 for constructing 1000 feet of road for
Mr. Schoenfeld's development in the south end of the town, adjacent to the
Triphammer Shopping plaza.. Discussion was held and a letter confirming
same was written and on file with the Clerk,
Oliver Holden discussed the request- being made by the people of Myers
for a light district. The district would extend from Rte. 34 by Lansing
Central School through ?dyers to Myers Heights. A petition is currently
being dirculated. Atty, Williamson explained in detail'what information
the petitions must contain. Fifty -one per cent of the landowners of
taxable property must approve the petitions before the board can take action.
Supervisor Dates read a letter from the Water Resources Commission
regarding the hearing scheduled for Harch 20, 1964 in the matter of the
Application of Glenside Water Company, Inc., for approval of its use of
a source of water supply and of its financial and engineering plans for the
construction of a water supply system, The letter stated that the hearing
had been postponed but will now be held at the Lansing Town Hall on
April 9, 1964 at 10:00 o'clock in the forenoon. The date of hearing was
changed by the Commission at the request of Allan H. Treman, attorney for
the water company, due to prior commitments. This hearing concerns the
request of Glenside Water Co., Inc.-, for a modification of previous
decisions of the Commission to permit the Glenside Water Co., Inc. to serve water
in the area bounded on the west and north by a line parallel to and 500 feet north
of the northerly right -of -way line of N.Y.S. Highway Route No, 13 Bypass, The
Commission also proposes to hear testimony and arguments with respect to
extending the time limit for submitting to the Commission by Glenside Water
Co., Inc., proof of its ability fully to finance its proposed project and
with respect to extending the time limit for the completion of the works
to be constructed in connection with it. Attye Williamson explained
Glenside Water Co., Inc., application in connection with Hearing on 4/9/1964.
Atty, Williamson was directed to contact the Water Resource Commission to
secure permission to be heard on behalf of the Town at, the public hearing
to be held on April 9, also directed to contact the State Senate regarding
same,
Supervisor Dates informed the Board. that he had received a letter from
the New York State Department of Civil Service stating that the Health
Insurance is to increase effective June 1, 1964.

Supervisor Dates read.price list received from Empire State Culver
Corp., concerning Perforated Corrugated Metal Pipe Underdrain. `
Supervisor Dates received from Albany, New York, the second report
of the Temporary State Commission on Per Capita Aid. Filed with clerk.
Supervisor Dates informed the Board that, he had received a Certificate
from the State Board. of Equalization and Assessment stating "Notice is
hereby given that on Mar. 4, 1964 the State Board of Equalization and
Assessment determined the.final state equalization rate for the Town of
Lansing is 42 %. Filed with clerk.:
Supervisor Dates read two letters, dated Feb. 20, 1964 and Mar. 4, 1964
from the State of New York, Department of Motor Vehicles, concerning the
traffic control on the newly constructed portion of Route 34 in the Town
of Lansing. Letters on file with clerk.
Supervisor Dates presented the Examination of Accounts of the Supervisor
for the Town of Lansing, year ending December 31, 1963. Also attached were
the summaries of the dockets of Town of Lansing Justices Ferris and Spry
for the year ending 1963.` This report was gone over by the Board and
explained in detail by Mr. Dates. Mr. Dates filed same with clerk for all
interest citizens in the Town of Lansing to examine. Also presented his
monthly statement to Town Board and explained same.
Resolution by Mr. Spry and seconded by Mr. Howell:
Resolved that the highway Superintendent by authorized to advertise,
pursuant to Highway Law #142, for bids on bucket loader and grader.
Bids to be opened March 28th, 1964bat 10 A.M. at the Lansing Town Hall,
Carried all present voted Aye.
Motion made by Mr. Ferris and seconded by Mr. Spry to pay General
Fund bills #43 through #59•
Carried all present voted Aye.
Motion made by Mr. Spry and seconded by Mr. Howell to pay Highway
bills. #56 through #84,
Carried all present voted Aye.
It was decided by the Town Board to hold the Regular Town Board
Meetings on the second Tuesday of every month at 8 P.M.
The Supervisor adjourned the meeting until March 28th at 10':00.Ao14.
at which time a special meeting will be held to publicly open bids on
the bucket loader and grader as advertised.
