The Lansing Town Hoard met in regular session at the South Lansing Town
Hall , 8:00 P. M. with Supervisor Dates presiding,

The Supervisor asked Mr. La Rue to advise the Board of his problem.
Mr. La Rue advised the Board that his house at 36 Mill St, Ludlowville
was in danger as to the washing of salmon Creek this being on the north east
side of the house This washing was started during the 1922 flood and at that
time the Red Cross had put up na wall of cement and stones also logs but this
now was washed badly He would like to advise the Town of this and if possible
something could be done to protect his house from being washed away by flood.
Discussion.
The Board asked several questions
+he Supervisor explained to Mr. La. Rue that the Salmon Creek Stream was
controlled by the conservation department and that the Town had to have
authorization from them -to do any work in it , That if he would take it up with
the conservation department they possibly would come up with an answer to
his problem.
The 'supervisor asked the Slerk to read the minutes .
Clerk read the minutes of the July 8th regular meeting Supervisor asked the
Board if there were any corrections , no corrections approved ,
Clerk then read the minutes of the July 20th special meeting
The Supervisor advised that the minutes of this meeting should be ammended
as the adyeriseing for bids to construct a beach house at Lansing Park Myers
was not deemed long enough time so in advertiseing the time of opening was extended
rune week to August 19, 63 8:30 P. M. Lansing 02own. Hall °o. Lansing and asked
that these minutes be ammended to read as abov- . All members present were in
agreement and Clerk requested to ammend minutes to this effect.
Motion by Mr. Howell seconded by ter. Kidney :
That the minutes of the Uuly 20th special meeting be ammended as above and the
Clerk so to ammend them .
All present voted aye,
Discussion of request fior the building of a fire pond at No. Lansing,

Resolution by Mr. Kidney seconded by Mr. Ferris.
That the Town Highway Superintendent bd aathor- zed.and� directed to build a. fire
pond at North Lansing as requested by the Lansing Fire ommissioners .
All present voted Aye.
Correspondance:
The supervisor read letter from the City of. Ithaca regarding the Mc Kinney's
water District stateing that all water dostrict contracts were being cancelled
and rewritten so that all would be alike

Clerk read letter from State Traffic commission adviseing that the install-
ation of a stop sign had been ordered for town road at intersection by elementary
school and route 34 73 , State Dept. of Public Works would install .

highway Supt, read letter from Josephine Walpole Groton, regarding road
from Stark road to Lake where she and several others had cottages , asking for
-the Town to build this road or if not able to build to work the same and
cottages would compensate,
discussion.
This was discussed at length as it had been previously requested and the
amount of work involved the request had been denied also the Supervisor was
to answer stateing the conditions also explaining that the Town Hy, upt. could
not do work on any private road.
Supervisor read letter from Mrs. Shepherd regarding the condition of
N. Triphammer road
Letter filed.
The Supervisor read letter from Gas and "lectric Corp. calling the Boards
attention to the condition of Graham goad from Igo. Triphammer no. into their
substation , this condition being due to the Triphammer Development Corp.
heavy traffic over it and not Beeping it repaired.
The Supervisor re=ed his reply to the Gas and - 'electric adviseing them as soon
as tfie development was ready to open the road would. be out in permanant condition
and road signs so installed.

The § upervisor presented his monthly report explaining same in detail filing
same with the Town clerk.
The supervisor advised the Board that the Almeda Lansing Fire Co. has
for the use of the Old Town Hall at Ludlowville for the playing of Bingo.,
the hall at Ludlowville Fire Go. is not large enough .

The § upervisor asked Mr. Tarbell if the 'assessors had any problems
He advised only that due to the _reduction of International 'halt Co. and the
closeing of Beam that there was no gain in assessment for 1963.
The Supervisor mentioned to the Board that it was his opinion that a
tentative salary should be arrived at for the office of Town �'lerk and the
combined work as collector in doing this would make it fair for any candidate
seeking election .
Discussion:
Motjonn by Mr. Howell seconded by Mr. Kidney:
That the tentative salary for the office of Town Clerk when the tax collecting
is combined is $3500.00 per year irith an amount of $500.00 budgeted for extra
help, deputy etc.
Carried all present voted aye,
Clerk presented bills.
Motion by Mr. Ferris seconded by Mr. Kidney.
That the bills rnunbered. from 97 thru 108 as listed in the record of Town accounts
be paid as audited .
Carried all present voted Aye.
The '' upervisor adjourned the meeting until August 19 - 63, 8 :00 at which time
a special meeting would be held to publicly open lids on the construction of a.
beach house at the Lansing Park -at Myers as advertisede Also any other business
