The Lansing Town Board met in regulLar session as moved ahead one week and
notice so given Met in Town Hall ''o, ansing 8'00 P. M. with 'upervisor'Dates
presiding.

The supervisor dispensed with the reading; of the minutes and roll call
at this time .
Clerk checked and found all members present.
The Qupervisor called on Mr. Lacey to explain to the Board the propoG31.
for the lighting of the N. Triphammer route 13 intersection .
Mr. Lacey explained that at a meeting of several people from this area and others
that would be useing these roads which in their opinions would be dangerous
intersections and should have street lighting The gown of Dryden were going
to light the section wherd rt. 13 cut off leaves the original rt.•13 near pine
woods , with 1$ lights at a cost of $1560. annual ,
He stated that they had come up with a proposed lighting of the N. Triphammer
intersection by 16 lights which would vary in size of lamps the cost to be
$1400. plus per annuam . He presented a map showing the position of these
lights explaining the difference in lights as to entering and leaveing the
intersection
A lengthy discussioh :
Mr. Lacey filed a map and stated that the Board could think this over and he
would check with them at the July board meeting.
The Supervisor took up the next order of business which was to advise the Board
of the receipt of a registered letter by the ?highway Superintendent from Atty's
Bryant and Mazza in behalf of the New York State :electric and Gas Corp. concerning
the condition of the portion of Graham road leading North from from North Tripi
Hammer road to their substation This road boundaries not marked and no road name
sign The condition of the road is such that it being impassable at times
It is requeste that Graham Road he immediately marked so as to evidence its nature
as a public street or highway .
Discussion:
The "' upervisor and Hy. Supt. explained to the Board that ce:rtian leases of
the N. Triphammer Development Corp. had redorded maps in Co. clerk's Office ,
these maps did not show that part of Graham road as a Town Road
The Supervisor advised the Board that he and Atty 14illiamson had cont:;cted
Mr. Thaaler now Pres. of N. Triphammer Development Corp. and they were going to
meet with them Tues. June 4-, at 11 00 at the sitd and get this problem
adjusted .

The Supervisor took up the next order of business
and Paul Trinkl to explain to the Board their problem
,.calling on Mr. Lockerby
Mr. Lockerby and Mr. Trinkl were both interested in knowing when the Lockerby Hill
road would be Black Topped . They both felt that if this road had a permanant top
the washing out of certain parts during heavy run offs could be controlled .
The Supervisor checked the minutes on the agreement the Hy, Supt.6made With
the Board at beginning of the year for the expending of Hy monies for permanent
work . He explained to them that that road was in these agreements the Ford Hill
road being the first to have a permanant top. and this agreement also stated that
this work to bo- done as per the budget , and that if when the Ford Hill road
was completed the budget would stand bt the Lockerby Hill road would be done
this year if not would be first next year.
The Supervisor and Hy. Supt. further explained to them the working of the
budget set up for all work on Town Roads .
Paul Trinkl requested that a -Stop sign be installed at the intersection of
the Lockerby Hill Road and the Lansingville Road .
The Hy. §,.ipt. explained to`Mr. Trinkl that the Town Hy. Dept. could not i}istall
traffic signs %There a town road intersected a County or State Road In this case
he should make this request to the County Highway Supt. and that our Hy. Dept. would
also make a request to the County Hy. Supt: and he believed the request would be
honored -
The Hy. §upt. advised the Board that the contractor rebuilding route'34 was
useing the Drake road to carry truck loads of gravel which was breaking the road
up'as -it was not constructed for such heavy hauling He had contacted the contractor
and asked him to repair the damage and he said he would not Hy. Supt .would like
authorization to post this road and any Town road as to the'amount of weight to
�be carried
Discussion:
Resolution by Mr. Spry seconded by Mr. Kidney:
Resolved,that pursuant to the Section 1660, Par. 11, of the vehicle and.traffic
law of the State of New York:
Any vehicle withe the gross weight in excess of the posted tons per axle
shall be excluded from any Town Highway of the Lansing when so posted Such
exclusion shall take effect upon the erection of signs on the section of highway
from which such vehicles are to be excluded*
and this notice to be so published

The H;f. §upt. also advised that something should be done about the Brown
Hill Road as there was at times some people traveling the full length of it
and it had a qualified abandonment on it He recommended that it be posted
no thru travel on it this would still enable those working the land acess to'
its
Discussion:
Motion by Mr. Ferris seconded by Mr. Spry
That the Hy. upt. be amthorized to install "' No Thru Traffic' signs on both
ends of the Brown Hill Road.
Carried all voted Aye.
The Hy. §upt. advised that Richard Volbrecht had mentioned to him that
the merchants of the Town had expressed the idea of furnishing picnic tabled
for the Park at Myers these tables to have the name of the merchant donating
the table
Discussion:
The Board expressed the opinion that tpis was a very generous gesture and that it
would need further consideration .'Thea oard were of the opinion that fire places
would be of a more permant furnishing for the park The Supervisor. asked Mr. Howell
to further check into this and report.

Oliver•Holden asked if there could be something dine to Dates
it passable for the ones working the land to transport combine and
machinery As it now is the brush and trees were grown out in the

Mr. Holden said that if it could be cleard enough to allow the machinery in

The Highway Supt. said he could do this-amount of work on it and would do
so as soon as possible.
The supervisor called. on Assessor Chr. Mr. Tarbell .
Mr. Tarbell said at this time he had no problems , they would be meeting with
Mr. Beam June 4; as Mr. Beam had requested a meeting with them*,
Councilman Howell brought up the topic of the request of the Triphammer
Development Corp. and Otto Schoenfeldt'to be-annexed to the•Village of Cayuga
heights .
Mr. Howell being very much opposed to this and would like the Board to take
some action opposing it. This action made public by publishing in the Ithaca
Journal.
Discussion.
Resolution by Mr. Howell seconded by Mr. Spry :
That the Lansing Town Board go on record. appactively opposing annexation of any
part of the townshipby the Village of Cayuga Heights .
Carried all Voted Aye,
Mr. Howell explained that:so far the people contacted to drive piles and
construct docks at the Park had not presented estimates and due to some
failnrecofnparties doing this `work to Khow interest in doing this work.,,he was
of the opinion that prices for driveing the piles should be got and to go ahead
and buildd thes docks as originally planned .
The Supervisor presented his monthly report explained same and filed with
the Clerk.
Supervisor advised that school for Town Hy. Superintendents would be held at
Cornell June 24, 25, and 26.
Motion by Mr. Spry seconded by Mr.Ferris
That Hy. Supt ._,and any Board member wishing to be
school for Hy. Juperintendents at Cornell June 24,
