The_`'upervisor opened the meeting for July by requesting the Clerk to read the minutes of May 14, and June 18th meetings Clerk read the minutes of the May 14, and June 18th meetings there being no corrections approved , The Supervisor asked Mr. Thaler to present his problem to the.Board at this time, Mr. Thaler as at ty. for establishment of a sewer Dist. on. No. Triphammer Road; Mr. Thaler stated he is presenting a petition for the establishment of:a sewer District on North Triphammer road in the Town of ansing , petitioner will pay entire cost of such improvements and land acquisition and the Town will not be charged any part thereof . It being necessary to hold a public hearing thereon . He therefore requests the Town Board call a public hearing for July 23 all costs of advertiseing and posting for said hearing to be paid by the petitioner. Petition filed with the clerk. Discussion: Mr. Thaler,explained the petition and reason for the need of the proposed sewer District , also stateing that it was substatially the -same as preseted in 1960 but not carried out . Motion by Mr. Spry seconded by Mr. Kidney: That a meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Lansing shall be held at the Town fall in the Town of Lansing, South Lansing , on the 23rd day of July, 1962 at 8:00 o'clock in the afternoon of that day , to consider: the said petition and to hear all persons in the subject thereof, concerning the same , and for such other action on the part of said Town Board wit .h relation to the said petition as ma,y be required by law or proper in the premises. present Carried all (\voted Aye The Supervisor advised the Board that Mr. Lacey from the New York State electric and Gas Co. wished to discuss further the proposed lighting of the Cayuga Heights acess to-the new relocation of Rt. 132 Mr. Lacey explained what has happened at the interchanges of new rt 13 location, City of Ithaca are going to light at Cayuga St. extension and the Town of Ithaca will light the one near there in the Town of Ithaca. Now the State had come up with the installation of 43 ltt fixtures and cable at the Cayuga hgt s interchange this would be a cost to the Town annually of $2965. to the Electric and Gas Co. covering power and maintainance of lamps The State Dept. of Public `corks would like action as soon as possible . Discussion: The Board signified that.,they did not deem this expense necessary , no action Mr.L�acey suggedted State engineer Shulte be contacted to explain this further. 9C July 9, 1962 Cont'd The Supervisor asked if any of the Visitors had any problems. Mr. Tarbell Assessor Chr. asked the Board if they had any thing to ask the Assessors before greivance day , The Supervisor advised that as the Town of Lansing had the 3 assessor system that the assessord had full power to act in the assessment of property in the Town . Mr. Howell advised the Board that right's of way purchase for entrance to park been paid for and the Deeds signed . Mr. Sp asked,if it would be p cssible to clean out the swimming area at the ,Ludlowville ark . t , The Highway Supt. brought up that he had no equipment light enough to put over the Bridge as the bridge was posted for 10 ton and in order to clean the pool it was necessary to cross the bridge and go up along the creek bank to the pool with the equipment . He reported he had looked the fence over at the top of falls and would soon be repaired The Supervisor asked Mr. Spry to set up a meeting with Mr. Ferris at the park atri'Ludlowville and advise the Board what should be done to make it safe . The Supervisor presented his monthly report explaining same in detail and filing same with the Clerk . The Supervisor read letter sent -to the Highway Supt.. from Dick Otis, regarding the parking of Hy. equipment on his land if this was done in future notice would be served and the Town billed . Letter filed . , Mr. Howell suggested to the Board that the Park at Myers be opened for swimming with a life guard for a trial period This was discussed and Supervisor and Board members advised him to check in to the insurance and to find alife guard at as reasonable a figure as possible for a trial period. The clerk advised the Board thst the custodians should be appointed . Motion by Mr. Kidney seconded by Mr. Spry: That Wiley Sutphin and Bernard Campbell be appointed voting machine custodians for 1962. Carried all voted Aye. Clerk presented the bills* Motion by Mr. Kidney seconded by Mr. Howell: That bills numbered from 95 thru lUf as listed in the record of Town Accounts be paid as audited. Carried all voted Aye. The question appointing a planning board was brought up aby some of the visitors and some members of the board. The 6upervisor advised that he wanted a full board present when an appointment was made and Mr. Ferris was absent . Adjourned 9:45 P. M. WHEREAS, a written petition-, dated June 29, 1962, in due form and containing the required signatures has been presented to and filed with the Town -Board of the Town of Lansing, Tompkins County, New York for the establishment of a Sewer District in the said Town, to be bounded and described in accordance with the description of land contained in.Schedule "A", annexed hereto and made apart hereof.
