The Lansing Tow} Board met in regular session at the South Lansing Fire Hall

The Supervisor'opened the meeting by- haveing the Clerk call the troll and read the
minutes of the last muting Jan. 2.0, 62.
Clerk called the roll all present except Justice Ferris who had advised was ill.
Clerk read the Minutes of the Jan. 20 th meeting no corrections approved.
jhe "upervisor advised the Board. that Mrs. Simpson haveing taken over the
Lahsing part of the H. K. Darake Insurance agency and now was the insurance agent
for the Town had been asked to come to the meeting t present a survey of insurance
in force on buildings and equipment also covering public (Liability on a Compr.
basis.
Mrs . Simpson presented copies to the Board members of this suuvey and explained
the same.
Discussion:
The Board asked Questions concerning coverage and any recommendations she might
have to further protect the Town at a better cost if possible.
Mrs. `'impson explained each item on the Survey and made recommendation. that the
Town tkke advantage of the deductible clause on some items and "also on the new
Town Hall to use the Co. insurance Clause ehich would give more coverage for
each insurance dollar provideing the coverage eras kept upt to appraisal,'value.
The Hoard thanked Mrs. Simpson and the Supervisor and `rown'Gleek would advise
her on the chang ^ing of the policies as per her recommendations

Clerk read communications Report from the County Treasurer giving
amount of :ponies paid the Town•of Lansing'during 1961.
The question of the appointment of a Constable was placed befor the Board
by the Supervisor.
Motion by rir. Howell seconded by Mr. Kidney :
That Delford Barned be appointed Constable for 1 year to Dec. 31, 1962 with a _letter
from'the Town Board outlineing his duties to be notified by Clerk. Also bond to
be written by Simpson agency and approved
Carried all voted Aye.
The 'upervisor next took up the subject of recent tentative equalization rate
given to the Town of Lansing by the New York State Equalization Board
Discussion: •
Mr. Ta.rbell Assessor Chr. and Supervisor explained how and why the Equalization
Board had'come up with such a figure , which they and the other Board members
are very much opposed to as unjust, and unfair.
Visitors were asked if they had any gmestions on this subject.

The Supervisor and Assessor•Chr. deemed it advisable to protest this tentative
equalization rate as in 1961 the protest resulted bn the gaining back the points
lost th=at year.
Motion by Mr. Kidney seconded by Mr. Spry
That Kenneth Tarbell Assessor Chr, and the upervisor
the 1962 Tentative equalization rate set by the State
if necessary to go to klbany to the hearing Feb. 28,
follow thru on a protest of

The Supervisor presented his monthly report explaining same in detail add
fileing same with the Clerk.
The Supervisor also presented the report of audit of his accounts made by the
CO P. A. firm of Maxfield and Company requesting copy of same to be entered or
attached to the minutes.
Clerk presented the bills.
Motion by ii r: Howell seconded by Mr. Kidney:
That the bills numbered from 11 thru 23 be paid as audited andlisted in the record of
Town accounts.

That the m$v4* meeting be adjourned until Monday Feb. 11'�, 62 8:00 P. M.
So. Lansing Town all to publicly open bids on furniture for Town Hall as
advertised and any other business that may need to be acted upon.
