Harris Dates Floyd Ferris Fred Spry James Kidney Charles Howell Donald- Sharpsteen Joseph Mc Gill Roll Call Supervisor Pres. Justice Pres. Justice Pres, Councilman Pres. Coun il:nan Pres. Hy. upt. Pres. Clerk Pres, The Supervisor called the meeting-to order dispensing with the reading of the minutes and asking for the Board to act on the bills first then get in the business of highways. Clerk presented the bills numbered from 1 thru 10 Motion by Mr. Howell seconded by -Mr. Spry: That the bills-numbered from 1 thru 10 as listed in the record of Town accounts be paid as audited. 0 1 t Carried all voted Aye. The Supervisor advised the Board that the highway business tm be acted upon at this meeting is to make out the agreements for the expenditure of highway monies in item 1 for repair and maintainence of Town roads and to review the personell policy of the Town Highway Department as to vacations sick leave and hourly rate of pay Discussion: The supervisor advised the Board members that if there was any special item of discussion they wished to have put in the minutes they should call the attention of the clerk or Supervisor to this effect. ., The Supervisor gave a report on what Highway monies were received and disbursed during the year 1961 , also gave a report to the Board from his records the ammount of payroll as to individuals on the highway employment rolls. With the Highway Superintendents help explained the above in detail. Motion by.Mr„ Ferris seconded by Mr. Spry: That the Highway upt. be authorized to continue the personell program of the Highway Dept. personell 2 weeks vacation , 12 days.sick leave and 6 Holidays. Carried all voted Aye. Motion by Mr. Kidney seconded by Mr. Ferris: That the Board sign agreement with the Highway `'upt. for the expenditure of Highway item #1 funds for 1962 , this to filed and approved by the County Highway Supt. The following projects to be carried on in the agreement and a copy thereof to be filed with Town Clerk. Black topping of the Benson Road Black topping of the AtWa.te..r road Repair of the Top on the Ford Hill road Rebuilding and top on the Graham road. Clerks copy filed in Highway file. carried all voted Aye 28' Jan. 13, cont'd. The Highway Superintendent recommended the purchase of a z Toh pickup as the present one needs replaceing. Discussion: Motion by Rr. J Ferris seconded by Mr.. Kidney: That the Highway uperintendent be authorized to advertise for bidon a tpn„ pickup , truck specifications may be hacl at office of Hi.ghway Supt. or Tovm Clerk Bids to be publicly opened Sat. Jan. 20, 62 10:00 A. M. at the South Lansing Town Hall, Carried all voted `eye. The Highway Superintendent advised. the Board that the wage scale of the Highway personel should be set at this time. DISCUSSION Resolution by Mr. Howell seconded by -Mr. Ferris: That the Minimum rate for full time Highway employees be set at $2.00 per hour and maximum at $2.45 per hour , extra. temp. help at $1.85 per hour . Carried all voted Aye. Resolution by Mr. Spry seconded by Mr. Kidney: That the Highway 5u.pt. be .authorized to purchase gravel for highway purposes at a price of .15¢ per yard. Carried all voted Aye. The Supervisor and a. Board member mentioned that they had been approched by the Ambulance Committee of the Almeda Lansing Fire Go. at Ludlowville in regard to help in financeing a new ambulance. Superviosr advised that the to finance a-a ambulance but financeing and operation of next regular Board meeting. Town asI?lie understood the Law would not be able there was something in the Law regarding the ambulance service . He would check on it for the Also the Law regarding a Town Constable. The remodeling of the Town hall was- discussed and Highway Supt. brought up about the trim and doors these being stained dark and would not blend in with the present side walls Also thr need for a. door into the Clerk's office with a glass in . Thsi was discussed at length and the Board was of the opinion that this wouldb be left to the judgement of Lloyd Sharpsteen as the men of the Highway dept. were doing a good Job. L.
