The Lansing Town Board met in regular session at South Lansing lire Hall 8'00 P.M. ,

Supervisor opened the meeting by haveing the Clerk read the minutes of the
June 12th meeting . No corrections approved.
The Supervisor read letter from General Crushed Stone Co. of Penn. regarding
the the investigateing of complaints about the Dust nuisance from the Asphalt plant,
at Cayuga crushed Stone Co. Quarry. This letter being in answer to the Tompkins
Co. health Dept. They stated that they were in the process of arrangeing to
install a wet process to do away with the dust but it would not be done until.
later in the year or after the first of 62.
Letter read from Atty. Williamson regarding ru.leing on Assessment of Jehovah
w'tnesss for fire tax purposes Ruleing No assessment could be levied for
any purpose .
The supervisor read letter from Lansing Central School district regarding the
transfer of the South Lansing School to the Town for a Town office building.
The results of the voting held..in district 13 were favorable 'to turning the
School building over to the Town Some recommendations were included in the
letter.
The Supervisor read a letter from the State farks Commission regarding
Lansing's application for to acquire more lands adjoining the Park at Myers.
This application is being considered and has been filed. with the dept.
handleing funds under the additional funds for park lands in NY State.
The Supervisor advised the Board that ..a report from the Committee to study the
need for a planning Board in the Town of Lansing was to be had at this meeting.
He read a letter from F. K. Naegley acting as chairman at a meeting held at Dr.
Fishers explaining that as there was not a 4uoram in attendance a report could
not be given He expressed the wish of the Committee that a informal meeting
with the Board be set up and that all the committe to attend. The letter expressed
the views of those attending the Committee meeting as to the advantage of planning
in Lansing.
Discussion:
The Board deci ed to have an informal meeting with the Committee MonJay July 17,
8 :00 P. M. So. ansing Fire Hall the § upervisor to set the meetingu-•p.
Highway Supt, reported oiling in front, of houses completed still working on
Creek Erwin road . Steve Varga was lower on bid for takeing down one dead tree (Elm)
on creek road Ludlowville . Will wait until later in summer to take trees down due
to the soft condition of Lawns.
The Supervisor gave his monthly report explaining same in detail and fileing
with the Clerk.

Bills presented
Motion by Mr. Howell seconded by Mr Spry:
That the bills numbered from 74 thru 93 as listed in record of Town Accounts be
paid as audited
Carried all voted Aye.
Motion by-Mr. Ferris seconded by Mr. Kidney:
That the Highway Supt. be authorized to attend the school for Highway Superintendents
at Cornell also the Assessors attend school at Cornell and any necessary expenses
be a charge of -the Town.
Carried all voted Aye.
The Supervisor advised the Board that the Lansing Lion's Club.would like to
volunteer to work in the Park helping to clean it up or any wotk that might be
needed Oliver Holden being one of the Lion's Flub committe for this work
explained hpw they came to pick this project.
Discussion:
After a discussion takeing up the different things that is to be done.before
it could be a full fledbed park the Board. and chairman of the Park Committee
Councilman. Howell were in agreement that the Park Committee would meet at the
rarkwith the Lion's Club Committee Sunday AEI July 15.
