M, as called by the Supervisor tomeet with the State Board of Equalization and assessments to discuss the recent study of equalization rates in Tompkins Co., apprailalshaveing been made of a number of typical and representative properties in the Town. Assessor Pres, Clerk Pres., Meeting opened , Supervisor introduce!bng Mr. Guion and Mr. Guard members from the State.Board of Equalization and Assessments. Supervisor turned the meeting over th the Assessors and Mr. Guion and Mr. Guard, Mr. Guard as the speaker from the department. Mr. Guard explained the method used by the State Board of Equalization and assessments in makeing these checks parcels are picked at rqndom in the `town of Lansing 10 farms and 10 residential parcels were used each time a check was made . Each time a check is made 1/3 of the previous parcels are dropped and new ones picked up in 3 checks approximately an all new list would be checked this enabled the Board to learn if the check had been taken advantage of The Town of Lansing assessment base is as follows 631/2 % Utilities , 14% residential , 10.06 Fame . Mr. Guard thanked the members of the Board present and st=ated that he felt the assessments made by the assessors were so nearly in line with the results of the survey no criticism was necessary.
