Supervisor called the gay regular meeting to order by takeing up,the business of the visitors reading of the minutes defeeredwith until later Visitors were :George a. Mayer, �'�erman Litner, Lloyd J R apaluch Jr, and Frank R. Hammond of Asbury Drive. Supervisor introduced the visitors to the members of the Board. I George layer presented petition signed by property owners of Asbury Drive for the black topping of this road , Supervisor explained how it was decided to black top a toI road, this was done :by makeing a traffic count if this count showed. an execessive thru travel then the blacktopping was considered. . petition was filed no action was taken . Superintendent of Highways reported that major part of his work so far had been repairing damaged highways innrepairing Brown Road he expected it to take about 4 days but it took nearly 2 weeks. Grader motor went bad makeing it necessary to replace with a new motor slightly higher horse pokier at a cost of $3,600, installed He will be patching Black top roads from ay 9th on until patched . Tompkins Uounty Highway Supt. has informed him that he will not accept the bill for ripwrap used at Myers for control of Salmon Creek during the flood. emeegency. Mr Tarbell Assessor Chr. brought up the question of listing house trailers with motor transportation of their own . This was discussed and the opinion was that they should be listed as it is the responsibility of the property owner to collect taxes from the trailer owner. Atty. �4illiamson advised the Board that in order to correct the discription of the Lansing Station road extension it would be necessary to execute a Quit Gla.im deed. to Donald Fenner makeing this correction . Resolution by Mr: Kidney seconded by Mr. Ferris: Resolved, that the Supervisor of the Town of Lansing is hereby authorized to execute a Quit Claim Deed on behalf of the Town to Donald M. Fenner of a part of the Lansing Station Road in order to correct the di.scription of the TOWn Road presently laid across the Fenner premises. Roll Call vote. J. Kidney I F. Ferris I ,r C. t'owell I Carried Awarding of bid for industrial mower Resolved by Mr. Ferris seconded by V1r..Howell: That the low bid of the Hanskn's Sales and Service of Horsekeads N. ve f1r a Case tractor and Mower at a price of $2,450.00 and the Town's Oliver 60 mower be accepted and the Highway Supt. is authorized to enter into a contract of purchase for same, Carried all voted aye. 5/7/60 cont'd. .Supervisor gave his monthly report explaining same',in detail,' reporting on school and gospel fund sta.teing that it was up to the Town Board to decide to do away with this,.fund and that An no way could the school district :set it up as a scholarship fund. Report filed with the Town Llerk. He also reported a vacancy in the Board of assessors due to the death of Harry Talmadge.. No action was taken on filling the vacancy in the office of.Assessor. Clark read the minutes of the April 2nd and April 16, meetings at this time no corrections minutes adopted. Atty, reported that no action had been taken on the David. claim of $150.00 Motion by 141r Ferris seconded by Mr. Howell.
