.1.
Their problem was about the rental of the house located on the Albert
Brown property now owned by the Town to be used as a club house by the Goon
Hunting lub . They had looked this place over and would.bonsider rental of it
could be had for a year with the privalege of 9 years hence and the club
repair and maintain for a $1.00 per year.
This was discussed and. and and decided a final decision not to be made
for at least 2 months The decision could not be made for tieing up the property
for 10 years due to the possibility that the Town wauld wish to dispose od a
part of the property before the termination of lease.
Supervisor appointed Justice Ferris and Conncilman Howell with Hy. u
Superintendent as a committee to look this property over and report to Feb.
meeting their recommendations both on rental of house to Club and tillable

The Town Clerk presented at this time the bill of Newman and Adams for
legal zervieee. in. the defense of the Assessors in the case of the Watch Tower
kbie and tract Society Inc. for tax exemption amount of bill $19500.'
!fudge Lounsberry h ?.ving ruled denying, the reauest for the exemption this
case starting in 1954
This bill was disIcussed at length it being the opinion of the.-Board
that` the total cost for fighting the tax c?-se was quite high and to date
the bill of udgeLounsberry hnd not been received although this would be
included in judgement of costs of which all or a part of could be collected
from the Warch Tower and Bible Tract Society Due to the Judges d ling there
is sure to be an appeal by the 'latch Tower r,;.: Bible dnd.cTr4ct Society
this would involve additional legal expense but the Board was in full agreement
that the involved of requesting exemption of tax on land and property of the
Society which was producing a profit to.them was in itself enough to continue
to fight the case.
