HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958-11-14November 14, 1958 The Lansing town Board met in .special session. at:?.1 00 F#1M. the;!,office of the Town Clerk, called by the Supervisor to`further act on the purchase of 5- 2 way Radios under the provision of resolution adopted at t e opening of the bids November 1, 1958, and any other business that may be brought before the Board Supervisor Dates presiding. Donald Sha.rpsteen Hy. tupt. Pres. Joseph Mc 6111 Clerk Pres. Supervisor opened the meeting with the following explanations A representative of Mobile Communication Co. of Syracuse and he met with Civilian Defense Adminstra.tor General Hospital in regard to the receiving Federal aid on the purchase of radio equipment ,,to be installed in Town Highway equipment . l'hey were informed that civilian "efense funds were not available at this time for Town s to purchase 2 way radio equipment, and that none would be available until 1959 and possibly not then. Supervisor Dates called for a discussionon this subject and a decision reached rather to purchase this equipment at full cost to the gown or not to. Discussion Motion by Mr. Ozmun secinded by Mr. Howell That the Town purchase for the Highway Department equipment 5 - 2 way radios, - and equipment as per specifications at a cash price of $5,265.00 as submitted in their bid of Mobile communication Co. of Syracuse, N. Y. and enter into a contract with them payment to be in cash.on installment and proper testing of equipment,. Carried all voted Aye Highway Superintendent advised the Board that Highway m. E. 0. Delford Barnes was on sick leave and was liable to be under Doctors care for some time recommended extended sick leave time as set forth in the personell policy adopted by the Town Board Nov.. 3, 1953. Motion by r. Kintz seconded by Mr Ozmun: That the.Board approve the extended sick leave time of Delford K. Barnes of the highway ;department as presented by 1`ighway Superintendent Sha,rpsteen subject to presentation of proper proof of disability . Carried all voted Aye. Adjourned 2100 aF. M. i
