r October 11, 1958 3 The Lansing Town Board met in regular session.10.00 A;., M. at the Town Highway gargge as..postponed from Sat. Oct. 49 1958 , To #transaEt regular business and review estimates filed in order to prepare a preliminary budget for the year 1959• Supervisor Dates presiding. Harris B. Dates Edward Uzmun Carl Kintz Oharles Howell James Kidney Donald ha psteen Joseph Me ill Roll Call Supervisor kres. Justice Peace Pres. Justice peaces Pres. councilman Pres. Councilman Pres. Hy. bupt. Pres. Clerk Pres. Visitors's Mr.Roger LaRue and Mrs. Roger LaRue Kenneth Drake, Assessor Kenneth Tarbell Atty. Robert Williamson was in attendance to answer any legal questions on several subjects to be acted upon . Supervisor Dates called the meeting to order dispensing of the reading of the minutes of the Sept. 6, 58, meeting until later in the meeting as Mr. and Mrs La Rue wished to state their problem in order to be able to leave early. Mr Dates called on Or La gue to state his problem to the Baord. Mr. La Rue brought the board up to date about their claim for damage of $300.Ob done by the highway department in July of 1957, in removing a. hedge sluice and fence on property he has on the East side of Sperry Lane , stating that he had a promise to clean up the stumps, brush, replace sluice and fence but nothing had been done. A lengthy discussion was entered into regarding this claim. Highway Superintendent stated that this hedge etc. was within the 50 foot limit of a highway which he believed was a town road , and in removing this obstruction would cut down the job of removing snow. During the course of the discussionthe subject of signing a deed for the right of way on this highway if the damage claim could be agreeable settled. Mr. and Mrs La Rue stated that this was a sep ®rate problem and the damage claim should be settbbd.first but as.survey map of the right of way stands both at curve and sight of hedge they would not sign the deed. Members of the Board were of the opinion that a new survey of the corner by another surveyor might be favorable enough for the La Hues to feel able to sign the deed. Both Mr. and Mrs La Rue were willing to furnish abstract for surveyor to use in making the new survey, but would not agree to sign the deed at this tkmefor they did not see as how this survey would make it any better for them.. No action was takenon the settlement of the claim or a new survey at this time of the meeting. n 180 Oct. 11/58 cont'd. Kenneth Drake of Slocum Drake insurance. agency presented estimate of what the insurance premiums would be for 1959 , estimate amt. was $3,600. Mr Drake explained to the board what this *covered stating that a part was comprehensive liability coverage which premium was based on annual audit and deposit premium was figured on estimated payroll . Supervisor Dates asked for the reading of the minutes of the September 6/58 meeting at this time . Clerk read same no corrections approved. Atty Williamson read the Law regarding the passing of axf town Ordinance prphibiting the parking or abandonding of'vehicles on'high*ays during snow storms , fires , floods orother emergencies . e,gave an explanation of how this ordinance coulC be pdopted by the Town Board.
