The Lansing Town Board met in regular session at

Supervisor opened the meeting by the reading of the minutes of the August,
2, meeting by the Town �'lerk. No corrections approved as read*
Mr* Townley inquired what disposition had been made of his request for
the building of a road from Myers to Rock Salt @S* Supervisor explained that
the highway committee had reported there-was no immediate need for this road
at this =time * No action was taken*
Supervisor Dates read letters from Lansing Station Cottage Association,
commending and extending their appreciation for the work done on the hill and
topping of the Erwin road *
Also a letter from the architectural and engineering firm of Sargent , Webster,
Crenshaw and Polley of Syracuse signifying that they would make a preliminary
estimate on the cost of a proposed water district for Myers and Lake View Drive
the cost not to exceed $600 *000
Mr. Holden stated he was interested in the action of the Board upon this
project* a hikving contacted this firm and received a copy og the letter®
Discussion was conducted on this subject*
Motion by Mro Kidney seconded by Mr, Howell:
That the Supervisor be authorized to execute a contract with the firm of Sargent,
Webster, Crenshaw and yolley-engineers to make a preliminary estimat of a
proposed water district for Myers and Lake View Drive at a cost not to exceed
$600* *
Carried all voted Aye*
Atty. Robert Williamson was in attendance to give information and explanation
on the following needing legal attention and advise:
1- Park lands offered as a gift by the International Salt Co
2- Ordinance for parking on Town Highways during an emergency,.11,1_
�3- What had progressed on the clearing up of the rights of way on Sperry
Lane*
1® Section 64 Sub* 8 of the Town Law states that before a gift of land
for park purposes is accepted a resolution must be passed by the Board accepting
the gift" subject to permissive referendum this to be advertised and notices
posted , final action to be taken after 30 days*

Whereas the international Salt Company has offered a gift to the Town of
Lansing of approximately , 20 acres of land on Cayuga Lake south of Salmon
Greek in Myers, No To for the establishment of a public park pursuant to
section 64 sub. 8 of the Town Law upon the following conditions:
lm That such lands will revert to the Oompany if the lands are not
used and maintained as a public park.
2- that the Company reserves to itself the mineral rights under said
Lands*
Be it Resolved, upon motion of Mr* Howell seconded by Mr. Kintz:

That the said Town accept a deed of the said lands as a gif t from the
International Salt company for the establishment of a Park subject tothe
conditions aforementioned, and be it further resolved that said resolution
is adopted subject to a permissive referendum.

Resolved That a park committee be appointed by the Town Board at the i next
regular meeting to assist in the development of the aforementioned ark

Atty. Williamson explained the necessary steps as outlined by the Town
Law in order to pass a Town Ordinance governing the control of.parking
on Town Highways,this_to further examined and brought up at the October
meeting*
He also brought the. Board up-to date as to what further progress had
been made on the Sperry i'ane right of way he and the Supervisor had contacted
eoRle involved and there remained Capwell Ruzicka and Weibly to contact,
a Rue not willing to sign and alternate right of way may be possible
elimnating Weibly right of way and a part of La Rue right of way*
Aighway Superintendent gave his report, reporting on total cost of
the Lockerby Hill Irwin road material and labor costs this was finished
and approved for state aid and work had been started on the Buck Irwin roado
Motion by Mr Ozmun seconded by Mr* Kintz:
