The Lansing Town Board met in regular session at the South tensing Fire Hall

Supervisor brought'up the question of compensation for the election
inspectors, as the setting up of-permenent personal registration will be
for 8 days from 10 000 A M to 10900 P M with thei2 Saturdays from 7 :00 A M
vto 10900 P. M. plus Primary and Election day* he rate was not set at the
anuary meeting as at that time it was not known how much time would be
needed for P. P. 1*-*

That the rate of compensation for inspectors of election during the 1958
election service pepiod be as. follows 9
$12.00 per day for the registration days 10:00 A. 0. to 10900 ?. me
$15.00 per day for the 2 Saturdays of registration 7 69 00 A. M. To 10900 ?. M.
$15.00 per day for Primary day and Election day .

That due to the Holiday week end of July % th the July regular meeting be
held the following Saturday July 1258 .
Carried all voted aye.
S..ppervisor Dates opened the meeting to people in attendance having
questions the wished board action on .
Mr D. A. 1hepherd, Mrs. Glune, Mr. Gyrisco,
presented a petition to the Town Board *.The petition of about 200 signatures
presented by Mr. lheph ®rd , requesting appointment of a planning board
to study development of the Town of Lansing and to make a general study of
the Township with respect to the location of industrial, commercial and
residential areas.
Supervisor opened the meeting for general discussion of this request by
any one present and Town Board members.
After a lengthy discussion no action was taken on the appointment of a
planning board.

Motion by Mr. Kidney seconded by Mr. Kintz:
That a'special meeting be called to fu%ther study the feasibility of appointing
a planning Board for the Town of Lansing.
Carried all voted Aye.

H. Denman of Century House numbering Survey System presented explanation

This was discussed by the Board along with fire commissioners Jerry Stockton
and Russell Bush as it was thought that this would be very benificial for
use in public reporting location of fires.

of the Town of Lansing at a price of $150000 survey cost plus 0 30 per house

Highway �upt0 Sharpsteen.advised the board a new stone spreader box
was needed for highway purposes0

Highway Superintendent Sharpsteen re ooted that Lansing Station till
was finished and blacktotping of Lansing Kationroad fl*om 34 B 'to :Millard
Robinson's, corner , and rake Roal black topped , oiling had been done
in front of: houses on all roads in the Town for dust control0
Highway Supt., also reported that highway committee Mr. Howell-and Mr•
kinis had surveyed the roads of the town for roads to be built under the
Erwin Plan in 1959 and suggested The _Mysk6w road , the chickahominy road
and 008 of a mile on creek road from Lockerby Hill road north0 2.. '

That the following roads be designated as the roads to be built in 1959
under the Erwin rlan*o The Myskow Road from Buck goad North to the Ludlowville
Road The Shickahominy Road from Warren load to Dr¢ den Town Line, and

Highway Supt. Sharpsteen stated his need for another large all wheel drive
truck for use in building roads as well as plowing snow ,o
He recommends the purchase of this equipment along with a snow plow and wing
to be owned by the Town 0

Highway superintendent eapbained what he and the highway committee Mr.
Kints and *r. Howell had about the construction of a building for highway
purposes,. hey had some pleas and costs as figured by a local builder,
William. Horvath . This building would be used as a.n addition to the present
Town 4arhge ,
estimated figure for a building 40x 100 concrete block with electrical and
plumbing , with office space for Hy. Supt . and other Town Offices but. not
,including heating was $42,000.
.In order to comply with the findings of the State tabor inspection the board
.was in favor of the Supervisor checking on the legal. steps for the financing
of such a building also other types of construction for a more reasonable
figure.
Supervisor presente& his- monthly report explaining it in detail and filed
with the Town Clerk.
The Towin Clerk read_ letter of thanks from the 4easih&.Sentral School
Student Council , for the use of voting machine during their their election.
also letters from Tompkins Bounty Health Dopt. regarding the upkeep of a
Town dump, Letter from Ludl &wville Almeda Fire 969 giving permission to
use the Fire Hall for the polling place offDists #1.
Change o;j polling place from Town Hall to Ludlowville Fire Hall , discussed
and deemed advisable as comfort facillities at the Town hall are not — satisfactory
and providing this can be done under the election Law for this year. Clerk
to get information as to what has to be done.
Clerk presented lists of names for election inspectors given him'by
the Chairman of the Republican and democrat parties .

That the following be appointed as inspectors of election and as more substitutes.

Supervisor Dates adjourned the meeting until Saturday June 21, 1958 1:30
