Absent: Bert Bland. Also present: Joe Wetmore Approved the minutes with no dissent. The first part of the mee7ng involved a presenta7on by Ethan on next-gen nuclear power and its poten7al role in geYng New York state to its energy and climate goals. The power point from the presenta7on will be posted to the LAC-PPF webpage on the town board site. The second part of the mee7ng involved discussing the new priori7es for the commi\ee. Joe reiterated that the town board will not take ac7on on zoning, a moratorium, or any other specific measures recently proposed by the commi\ee for the board to consider, that would address some poten7al concerns about the development of a proof-of-work cryptocurrency opera7on at the former power plant. The plant's opera7ng company had indicated in an SEC filing in 2021 that it was considering this op7on but there has been no further informa7on forthcoming from the company about the current status of its plans. Among other things, the commi\ee’s new priori7es include making an effort to enhance public outreach and engagement. The priori7es were provided to the town board on 6.15.22. Joe suggested finding out more about how farmland is being bought up near the plant for solar. It appears that no one knows exactly what is happening with the plans to convert part of the power plant lands to solar. A new large-scale solar development was not part of the recent NYSERDA approval for statewide sites but Joe said he has heard that farmers are s7ll being approached about leasing land around the plant. The commi\ee worked on a new list of priori7es to send to the board within a week. Submi\ed by Lauren Chambliss, Secretary
