Leland Cornelius reported he had to divert water coming from Spring Street
Extension through gravel bank onto Nest Cortland Street. Excavation on
Spring Street was done by County causing the water problems.
The Town Board, Town Attorney and George Totman reviewed some of the
current problems with new zoning law. Town Board authorized Planning Board
and Attorney Fitzgerald to make corrections, additions, etc. and present
to board at next regular meeting for proper action.
Supervisor Robinson moved that board enter into executive session to discuss
possible acquisition of real property. Seconded. by Mr. Carey and unanimously
carried. at 9:45 P. P?.
Board meeting reconvened at 10 :05 P.M. There being no further business,
Mr. Rankin moved to adjourn meeting at 10:06 P.P. Seconded by Mr. Sovocool.

Those present: Teresa fol. Robinson, Supervisor
Ellard L. Sovocool, Councilman
Verl Rankin, Jr., Councilman
Francis P. Carey, Councilman
Absent: Gordon C. VanBenschoten
Also present: Leland Cornelius, Harold Cargill, Wayne Wheeler, Calvin Bush,
Judson Holl, Frank Miner, Kenneth P4arks, John Sincerbeaux,
John Walpole
Purpose of meeting was 1984 highway negotiations.
Highway employees asked for 8% or approximately 500 per hour pay increase,
one day per month sick leave, a Health Insurance Plan and after 15 years
of service, four (4) weeks paid vacation.
Board discussed request and offered 250 per hour increase, no additional
sick days, no four weeks paid vacation as it doesn't apply to anyone yet,
and. offered to look into a Health Insurance Plan for all Town employees.
Offer was not acceptable to highway employees. They asked for 300 per hour
increase and the additional sick days. They also wanted to know if' they
could be paid weekly. Payroll is set up biweekly in conjunction with County
so will remain as is.
Board discussed request and offered 300 per hour with no additional
benefits.
Highway employees agreed to accept board's offer of 300 per hour increase
for 1984.
