Monthly reports from Town Clerk Arid Zoning Officer were 'reviewed. A3so
reviewed was a letter to Board fxom M.ax axet Pa2ner indicating "she is not
now, nor has she even been, an employee of the town. She is a self- employed
stenographer with whom the town contrasts for her services, paying a fee and
expenses for this service . " No action taker on t��i s .
Disoussed. contracting with Leaxning Web.. Ma2 Carey felt that if they don't
get better results than last ,yeax, it would be difficult :lor him to approve
next year. Supervisox Robinson said, they are adapting more to our school

Roved by Mr. Rankin to appoint Aichael R. Post to the Planning Board for a
term of seven years. Seconded by Mr. Sovocool. Ayes - Sovocool, Rankin,
Caxey, VanBenschoten, Robinson.
Discussed. Raymond Samson's request for a zoning change. Supervisor Robinson
contacted County Planning Department who in turn informed her it is the Town
Boards choice to decide if they want to spot zone or not. Board must decide
if they want !Motor Vehicle Repair Shop in residential area. Mr. VanBenschoten
asked if ;Planning Board ever talked about opening up more commercial territory.
Several board. members feat spot zoning creates a terrible precedence --
indefensible as far as courts are concerned.
Moved by Supervisor Robinson that Raymond Samson's request for a zoning change
be denied because of the situation and spot zoning is not in the best interest
of the Town. Seconded by Mr. Sovocool. Ayes - Sovocool, Rankin, Carey,
Robinson (VanBenschoten - Abstained).
Attorney Fitzgerald reported on John Anderson court case hearing held before
Judge Bryant on March 31st. Judge wants cleaned up in 90 days. Within 30
days Anderson will remove trash from front of house. Anderson wants to retain
white goods (stoves, refrigerators, etc.) until Sept. 30th. Attorney asked
Board members J.f they wanted to go to the expense of cleaning lap prior to
June 30 deadling. Board and Highway Superintendent discussed cleaning up,
sorting, dumping sites, etc. Mr. Cornelius will contact Io1r. Mobbs regarding e
a one hole dump. Board will write to person who gave Salvage rights at
County Dump. Mr. Cornelius can have t'oin equipment available the week of
May 16th for clean up.

RESOLVED that the Totem Board, Torn of Groton, authorizes Attorney
Fitzgerald to offer services of the Town Highway Department to remove
trash and junk from the John Anderson site on :Brown Road.
Board discussed violators of the Motor Vehicle Repair Shop Permit Ordinance.
Zoning Officer has been unable to get violators to comply with ordinance.
