Claim hQos. 13 to 55 of the Highway Fund in the amount of $19,083.37 and
Claim Nos. 21 to 48 0-' the General Fund in the amount of $51,225.93 ware
presented for audit, Mr. .Rankin moved 'that the bills be paid and the
clerk instructed to draw wa rant for them. Seconded by Mr. VanBenschoten.

Don Cargian and Ron Sicina were present to repo =t on activities of local
concerned citizens group regarding drug and alcohol abuse xn Groton. They
asked'Boaxd to consider adopting an ordinance xelating to open alcoholic
beverage containers. The Village has been asked to act an same ordinance.
If Village adopts ordinance, then Town should consider adopting similar
ordinance shortly thereafter in order to aid enforcement of Village
orddna.noe should violators go ovear line into "down. Boaxd referred proposed
ordinance to 'Town Attorney for his review and comments,
Supervisor Robinson received word that the SPCA Cont'z1act will be changed
again. Since two contracts have already beers signed by Supervisor, Attorney
suggested stating in new Contract that 'this contr.-�.ot supercedes any
previous contra.e•t signed by us ".
Correspondence and reports from Town Clark, 'Town Justice and Zoning pffioear
were reviewed.
RESOLUTION NO. 2 - APPROVAL OF 1,983 FIRE, AMBULANCE AND GROTON
CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTUR CONTRACTS

RESOLVED, that the Tom of Groton hereby approves 1983 Contracts
L .'ith the iTire Department in the amount. of $22,700.00, Groton
Ambulance in the .mount of $20,000.00 and the Groton Child Develop-
ment. Center in the amotirjt of $21000,00.

Moved by Mr. VanBenschoten to appoint George Totman to the Planning Board
for a term of seven years. Seconded by Mr. Sovocool. Ayes - Sovocool,

Municipal Official's meeting will be held February 15 at 7:00 P.M. at the
Icabod.
Moved by Mr. Sovocool, seconded by Mr. Carey, that the Board authorize the
expenditure of up to $400 for Town officials to attend Annual Association of
Towns Convention in New York City on February 20 - 23. George Totman,
Verl Rankin, Arland Heffron, Robert Walpole, Roger Gleason, Cecil Twigg,
George Bushnell, Teresa Robinson and Colleen Pierson are planning to attend.

RESOLUTION N0. 5 - HIGHWAY ABAR'DONMF.�1

RESOLVED, that the town highway hereinafter designated has not been
opened or worked for more than six (6) years last past, and that the
same has been abandoned by the public, and is no longer used as a
public highway, to wit: the town highway extending from County Road
180, Church Street, in a general southerly or southwesterly direction
to County Road 104, Stevens Road, and bounded. on the north by Tanner
and Ballard and. on the south by Hill, Munson, and Davidson,
WHEREFORE, pursuant to Section 205 of
the Highway Law
of
the State
of New York, the highway is declared
to be and hereby
is
discontinued.
The Planning Board will meet every third Tuesday of the month. Mr. Gary
Evans will meet with them to finalize proposed ordinance.
