Fund were presented for audit., Hr. Rankin moved that the bills be paid and

WHEREAS, the Power Authority of the State of New ]Cone has drafted
legislation to establish a "Residential and Rural. Energy Authority,
and
WMREAS, the Villige: of Groton has a Municipal Electric SyE3tem
which has serviced, the residents of the Village4:of Groton fox' marry
years at a low rate, and
krHEREAS, we feel the residents of the Village of Groton, which is
part of the Town, will. be jeopardized by transi'erring� low cost hydro,
electric power zTorn ap8ta.te and that which our residents to
New York City aznd other parts of the State, and
WHEPTA , such transfer will hurt the residents of the Village and
Town of Groton economically and increase their cost for electricity
NOW, THEREFORE', BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Doaxd of Groton hereby
opposes the establiEhment of a "Ref iid.ential and. Rural Enea gy Authority"
and the. transfer of the low cost hydro - electric power to any othex
paxt of New York State and opposes any passage of such legislation,

N.Y.S.-Fire Prevention Code for December 28, 1981 at 7:30 P.M. at the

meeting to consider adopting Fire Code and to perform annual accounting of

on Fire Prevention Code Hearing and, to
perform
annual accounting
of all town
records.
Hearing

Fire
Prevention Code was
held
immediately prior to this
meeting.

was no objections
to code,

RESOLUTIONI N0. 21 - ADOPT STATE FIRE PREVENTION CODE
Moved by Mr. Carey, seconded by Mr. Sovocool

RESOLVED, that the To•ein Board of the Town of Groton hereby accepts the
applicability of the State Fire :Prevention Code for the Town of Groton
to become effective in said Town of Groton on the 1st day of January 1982,
in accordance with the provisions of Section 393 of the Executive Law,
and it is
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk be, and hereby is, instructed to
file a certified copy of this resolution in the principal office of
the State Building Code Council, Division of Housing and Community
Renewal, at Two World Trade Center, New York, New York 10067, and in
the office of the Secretary of State at Albany, New York.
Claim Dios. 356 to 362 of the Highway Fund and. #372 to #386 of the General
