Purpose of meeting *eras highway negatiati,ons for 1980.
Highway employees asked for 600 per .hour wage increase, ..one sick day per
month, a.nd three weeks paid, vacation after ten years employment.,

J. Holl, spokesman for Highway Association, said 400 is Fair, drop the
sick days, but 'three weeks should be added in for vacation. Frank, Slimy
John and Jerry will be eligible fox three. weeks vaoatiA xn in 19801.

Mr. Walpole asked the employees what their. priorities were- -raise or
vaication? Both have equal jpriorities, 1111.1 highex increase in wages offset
three weeks paid vocation? Rio, the, want third, week of vacation. Kost
other employex's Give three weeks vacation after seven or eight years service.

RESOLVED, that the Board does tentatively agree to proposal of 400
per hour wage increase, sick days xcipain the sane, and to increase
vacation time to three weeks after ten years with final approval
caruing at the October 22, Board Meting.
Tompkins County Municipal Officials' Association will meet October 24 at
the Lehigh'Valley Restraurant at 7:30 P.K1 with John Murphy the speaker.
RESOLUTION NO. 38 _ - 1980 YOUT}i RECREATION PROGRAM

RESOLVED, that the Town of Groton will participate in the Youth
Recreation Project for 1980 in the amount of $3200 with $1600
being reimbursed by the State..

RESOLUTION NO. 32 __'- HIGH161AY NEGOTIATIOZIS FOR 1980

RESOLVED, that the _Town of Groton Highway Association Employees' be
granted a 400 per hour increase and three weeks vacation after ten
years employment for their 1980 Agreement,
RESOLUTION NO. 40 - DENNIS VA11 BERK01ol HOURLY RATE INCREASE

RESOLVED, that Dennis VanBerkom will receive 400 per hour raise as a
permanent part -time employee.
Mr. Walpole moved that board go into executive session for personnel matter,
Aseconded by Mr. Rankin. All ayes.
Board meeting reconvened.
Mr. Walpole stated executive session was a personnel natter and no vote was
taken during session.
RESOLUTION NO. 41 - DEPUTY CLERK'S FEES
Moved by Mr. Walpole, seconded. by Mr. Rankin
Ayes - Sovocool, Walpole, VanBenschoten, Rankin, Robinson
RESOLVED, that $2000 would be budgeted for Deputy Town Clerk for 1980;
FURTHER RESOLVED, that Town Clerk's .request for an additional $500 for
Deputy Town Clerk for the remainder of this year is denied;-and that
the $139.26 disability money the Town received for Clerk's illness
would be transfered into Deputy Clerk's Fund.
Remainder of evening was spent working on budget.
RESOLUTION NO. 42 - ADOPT TENTATIVE BUDGET AS PRELIMINARY BUDGET

Ayes - Sovocool, Walpole, VanBerischoten, Rankin, Robinson
RESOLVED, that board accept tentative budget as preliminary budget and
schedule Preliminary Budget Hearing, Federal Revenue Sharing Hearing and.
Fire Budget Hearing for Monday, November 5, 1979 at 7:30 P.M.
There being no fuxther business, Mr. Rankin moved for adjournment, seconded
by Air. Sovocool at 8:55 P.M.

10/17 & 10/22) as mailed. Seconded 'by Air. Sovocool. Ayes - Sovocool, Walpole,

Claim #252 to #286 of the Highway Departmd "41and #255 to #286 of the General
Fund were presented for audit. Mr. Rankin a6 ved that the bills be paid. and
the Clerk instructed to draw warrant for them. Seconded by Mr. VanBenschoten.
