The fire-'chief becomes the enforcement official pursuant to Title 19 New York Code of Rules and Regulations, Part 429,.3 only where a,town has no building or fire code in effect on March 1, 1982 and thus allows the State Fire Prevention Code to become effective automatically on that date, and, further, takes no action to designate an enforcement official. Since, as I understand it, your town has already accepted the State Fire bode, this provision will 4 not apply to your town.
