as Delegate' to the Annual Association of Towns Meeting to be held February
14 - 17, 1982, and to appoint Verl Rankin a �' an alternate. Ayes - Sovocool,

Groton City, residents would like road names straightened out. Groton. City Road
runs from Route 222 to Champlin Road.. Hinman Road starts at Clack's corners
and goes to Route 90. Letter indicating correct house numbers and .road names
should be sent to Groton and McLean Fire Departments.

Motion by Mrs. Robinson to set Town Board Meeting night for the second
Monday of the month at 7. 0 P.M. to be held at the Town Hall, Seconded by

Mrs. James Short of Sharpsteen Road contacted the Town Clerk regarding
Sherry O'Brien's junk cars. He is moving them over onto their property.
She does not want them on her land and since he doesn't have a license
to operate junk yard or car business, the Town. should make him comply
with the zoning ordinance. Zoning Officer should look into matter,

Moved by Mr. VanBenschoten, seconded by Mr. Carey, that the minutes of

:highway :fund Claims Nos, 17 - 43 in the amount of $15,674. 18 and
General Fund Claims Nos. 23 - 40 in the amount' of '$7,637.,85 were presented
for audit. Mr. VanBenschoten moved that the' bills be paid and the clerk --
instructed to draw warrant for them. Seconded by Mr. Carey, Ayes Sovocool,
VanBenschoten, Rankin, Carey, Robinson. �

Phil Shurtliff, County Representative, reported that he will be.serving on
three committees., Planning and Public Works, Health and Education., and.
:humans Services. He needs input From the Town. Board asked Mr. Shurtliff
to look into State Route 38 hazardous highway conditions caused by water
running over highway due to plugged culvert and stream near trailer park
on Cayuga Street; also water problem on South Main Street near Jim Cornelius
residence. Mr. Shurtliff also stated that anyone whose property sustained
flood damage should contact Tom Payne for tax adjustment for next tax period.
Correspondence and monthly reports From Town Clerk and Zoning Officer were
reviewed, one permit for a storage building was issued. Mr. Volbrecht is
ignoring renewing his Special. Motor Vehicle Repair IShop Permit. This matter
will be given to the newattorney.

f State Electric & Ga's Corporation 'for lighting the streets and
public places of Districts of McLean and Peruville, Town of
Groton, dated October 25, 1981, be, and the same hereby is,
approved, and a majority of the members elected to this Board
be, and they hereby are, authorized and directed to execute the
same in the name and in behalf of the Town of Groton, McLean,
and Peruville Districts.

RESOLVED that the position of Town Attorney, be abolished.
Supervisor Robinson contacted. Attorney John Fitzgerald. of Fitzgerald, Taylor,
Fitzgerald & Pomeroy of Cortland, New York, regarding serving as Attorney
or the Town. He quoted a race of $75. •

Consensus of Board was that that was too much money and that they should
contact other Attorneys to see if they are interested. Teresa will contact
Evan Webster and new Attorn ey's in B ucko'.s Office. Dutch will contact Wes
Mc ermitt and Verl will contact Mahlon Perkins.
Moved by Mr. Sovocool to table appointing an attorney until others have

Highway Superintendent, Leland Cornelius, would lake board to consider
purchasing a 1982 10-wheel dump truck-snow plow combination and trade in our

Purpose of meeting was to take action on appointing an Attorney for the
Town,
.No word was received from Atty. Wes McDermott. Atty. Evan Webster is not
interested in zoning. Atty. John Fitzgerald has indicated a desire to
render all legal services necessary for the Town to be compensated either
by the job, hour, quarterly, half-year or yearly.

on- the-1st day of March, 1982, and ending on the 31st day of
December 1982, and
FURTHER RESOLVES to compensate-Law Firm quarterly for services
rendered, , but not to exceed $5000 for the calender year 1982,
