The purpose of the Special Meeting was to discuss a proposed local law relative to
ethical standards of conduct for Town of Groton officers and employees, and the
creation of an ethics advisory board.
The Town Clerk read the notice as posted and as sent as a press release to the Cortland
Standard and Ithaca Journal.
Supervisor Morey introduced Proposed Local Law #1 for the Year 2013 entitled "A Local
Law Establishing a Code of Ethics and Ethics Advisory Board for the Town of Groton."
RESOLUTION #13-044 - SET PUBLIC HEARING ON
PROPOSED LOCAL LAW #1 FOR THE YEAR 2013
MOVED by Supervisor Morey, seconded by Councilman Sovocool
Ayes - Sovocool, Scheffler, Gamel, Clark, Morey
RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby sets a Public Hearing on Proposed Local Law #1
for the Year 2013 entitled "A Local Law Establishing a Code of Ethics and Ethics Advisory
Board for the Town of Groton" for July 9, 2013 at 8:00 pm. Said Public Hearing shall be
part of the Regular Monthly Meeting.
Attorney Casullo asked that the Board contact him by Monday, June 24, at 5:00 pm
with any changes that they might want so that they will be able to meet the 10-day
mailing requirement. Clerk Scheffler said that if there was a last minute change after
the 24th, she would hand deliver copies to the Board Members.
There being no further business, Councilman Gamel moved to adjourn, seconded by
Councilman Clark, at 6:05 pm. Unanimous.
