The Town Board reviewed Preliminary Budget to see if there was any way to lower
tax rate. Since we were notified yesterday at 5:00 P.M. that the Railroad property
in the Town and Village was tax exempt, thus lowering our assessment valuation --
which tax rate was originally based on for the Preliminary Budget -- the Board
felt we would have to absorb loss and could not lower budget or tax rate.
Consequently, the following resolution was made:
RESOLUTION NO. 300 _ ADOPT PRELIMINARY BUDGET FOR 1978
