The Meeting of the Town of Groton Zoning Board of Appeals was called to order by
Acting Chairman Paul Fouts at 7 p.m.
ORGANIZATIONAL MATTERS FOR 2014
Selection of Board Chair
A motion was made by Member Patricia Gaines to recommend to the Town Board that they
appoint Paul Fouts as Chairman of the Town of Groton Zoning Board of Appeals for 2014. The
motion was seconded by Member Ted Schiele, with the vote recorded as follows:
Ayes: Chairman Fouts Nays: None
Member Gaines
Member Schiele Absent: Member Darling
Member Cerretani
Motion carried.
This becomes Action #1 of 2014.
Selection of Board Vice-Chair
A motion was made by Member Dan Cerretani to recommend to the Town Board that they
appoint Patricia Gaines as Chairman of the Town of Groton Zoning Board of Appeals for 2014.
The motion was seconded by Member Schiele, with the vote recorded as follows:
Ayes: Chairman Fouts Nays: None
Member Gaines
Member Schiele Absent: Member Darling
Member Cerretani
Motion carried.
This becomes Action #2 of 2014.
Selection of Meeting Day/Time
A motion was made by Member Gaines to set the 2014 meeting day/time of the Town of Groton
Zoning Board of Appeals as the last Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m., as needed. The motion
was seconded by Member Schiele, with the vote recorded as follows:
Ayes: Chairman Fouts Nays: None
Member Gaines
Member Schiele Absent: Member Darling
Member Cerretani
Motion carried.
This becomes Action #3 of 2014.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES - 17 OCTOBER 2013
A motion was made by Member Cerretani to approve the Minutes of the 17 October 2013 ZBA
hearing/meeting, as submitted. The motion was seconded by Member Schiele, with the vote
recorded as follows:
Ayes: Chairman Fouts Nays: None
Member Gaines
Member Schiele Absent: Member Darling
Member Cerretani
Motion carried.
This becomes Action #4 of 2014.
(Note: ZBA Member Carolann Darling arrived at 7:06 p.m.)
OTHER MATTERS
❖ John Beck - Supervisor Morey brought the Board Members up to date on the Beck
sign matter, explaining the complete history. Mr. Beck is expected to come in to see
CEO Coats to apply for a variance and go through the process.
ADJOURNMENT
At 7:16 p.m., a motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Member Schiele and seconded by Member
Gaines, with all Board members present voting in favor.
