Mr . Wargo read aloud the Notice of the Public Hearing as published in the
Groton Journal and Courier , July 31 , 1974 which is attached hereto and
made a part of these minutes .
No members of the general public turned up for or against this proposed
variance .
J . Wargo : Mr Rebbein , would you like to give us the reasons you are
requesting this variance ?
F . Rebbein : We would like to put a front porch on to improve the appear -
ance of our home and make it more convenient .
D . Snell : Need 55 ft , from the center .
J . Wargo : And they have -.39 now .
G . Hoy : And the porch would bring it to 31 .
D . Snell : It ' s 30 ft . back from the road right of way .
G . Hoy : Is this a mobile home ?
Mrs . Rebbein : No , it ' s an old house , been there a long time , just want to
add a porch , that ' s all .
F . Rebbein : Was probably there before the road was built .
J . Wargo : How long have you owned this house ?
Mr . and Mrs . Rebbein : Five years this fall .

J . Wargo : Does anyone else want to say anything ?
G . Hoy : Where is this property located ?
J . Wargo : At the intersection of Bossard Road and Spring Street Extension .
About a mile from Cobb Street ,
R . Bell : From the Y up there ?
J . Wargo : No , from Cobb Street ,
F . Rebbein : It ' s a dirt road .

where the location of their house is , )
G . Hoy : How is the house arranged in the back ?
F . Rebbein : There ' s a wood shet way out back . I suppose there used to be a
kitchen , It ' s empty ,
Mrs . Rebbein : We don ' t occupy the back part of . it .
F . Rebbein : There arenit ;. any fixtures back there ,
J . Wargo : Does anybody else have any more comments ? Dana , do you have
anything ?
D . Snell : Just wondering what to do with these preexisting houses .
J . Wargo : Any other comments at all ? If not , will close the hearing
and will delay our decision on this so we can hold our second
hearing . Will discuss this next . Monday night , August 19th , - -
Mr , and Mrs . Rebbein , you don ' t have to come back for this but
we ' ll vote on it next Monday and let you know our decision ,
