Monica Carey moved to accept the minutes as corrected; George VanSlyke seconded. VOTE: ALL IN FAVOR; MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY George Totman explained that the Town Board did approve acquiring the county Circuit Rider program. This will give the Planning Board $5,000 to finish up what has been started. George Totman stated that the people from the program were unable to attend this meeting, but will attend a meeting scheduled for January 27, 1993. Eventhough George Totman will not be able to attend this next meeting, he suggested that the meeting still be held with the planners to move forward. It was agreed to appoint Monica Carey to chair the next meeting. Verl Rankin pointed out that there will only be four members at the meeting on 1 /27/93, George Totman questioned the Board members if they had any questions or concerns about the direction the Planning Board was headed in. He reviewed that the joint meeting with the Town Board went well, and that he hasn't heard any feedback from them. He explained that he has told the people from the county planning department to go ahead and start working, since they have a good4idea of what the goals and objectives are for the Planning Board. They can give something in writing to the board and the board can then give feedback as to whether they agree or disagree with it. Once the professional planners have their research done, then the Planning Board can begin to work on the wording of the master plan. George Totman explained that the master plan needs to be done before the Planning Board can start changing the zoning ordinance. The Planning and Design Manual, which George Totman had given to each member, gets into more detail than what the Planning Board does. George Totman felt this manual would be especially helpful for a new member coming on to the board. Monica Carey questioned whether the Town Board has made any mention of who they will be placing on the Planning Board. George Totman answered that Theresa Robinson has mentioned that they are interviewing the candidates that have been presented to her, and that she has interviewed one person so far. Verl Rankin made a motion to post a notice that indicated that the Town of Groton Planning Board will hold their regular planning board meeting on the third Thursday of each month at 8:00 p.m. at the Groton, Town Hall; Monica Carey seconded. VOTE: ALL IN FAVOR; MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY Monica Carey moved to adjourn the meeting; George VanSlyke seconded.
