Supervisor Scheffler - We're here this afternoon to possibly appoint a Highway Superintendent.
Attorney Casullo - I think that if you make the appointment today, the person will have to sign their oath
within 30 days. They could do it tomorrow or they could do it on day 29. It is possible, if the person
needs time to finish up his employment elsewhere, as long as he is doing responsibilities to a degree over
here, like doing things at night, making sure he's in contact with the crew, yes you can do that. If you
choose not to make an appointment today, your Band-Aid approach for the time being would be probably
at your Organizational Meeting, to appoint a Deputy because it will have been over five days of the
vacancy of that position. Then based on your appointment of the Deputy, that person would serve as the
interim Highway Superintendent until this Board appointed a Highway Superintendent and that person is
sworn in. That person could either keep the Deputy or appoint a new one. Does anyone have any
questions?
Supervisor Scheffler - I think we're all set. Would anyone like to make a motion?
