A subdivision to discuss new zoning laws .

G . Evans
L . Raymond called the meeting to order at 8 : 30 PM .
It was agreed upn by those prsent to send Josephine Bell a get-well card .
G . Evans : I have given you articles 1 , 2 , 3 , and 4- ,
He described articles pertaining to the zoning laws and distributed a new
section of Article . 4- .
Materials pertaining to the meeting were assembled by the members as
G . Evans explained that he set up a format ( differing from the prior on Article 49
District Regulations ) derived from materials that members had given him pertaining
to Article 4 , in the hopes that this format will be more suitable . He explained
the symbols that have been used in order to clarify the regulations .
L . Raymond : .- I suggest it also be given in fractions of an acre .
.- You talk to folks around town they give you in acres not square feet .
A discussion followed concerning the issiA ' . of hectares vs . square feet acres .
G . Evans also pointed out that Sections 4. 06-4. 09 were reserved .
- if you need more districts .
He stated that Section 320 definitions were made in accordance with the
established definitions of the New York State Housing Code . He pointed out
that there is often much confusion and gave the example that according to
NYS law a family and household can 'include as many as 2 ( two ) day case children .

This was followed by a debate on whether the Town of Groton has an official
map , they do , however , have Highway maps . R . Gleason suggested that_ the Board
contact Teresa Robinson for this information . The importance of having a map
depicting roads , seasonable maintenance was brought up . Mr . Twigg gave the
example of people building a home way down a public road , the town was responsible
for the maintenance . of that road . Mr . Gleason stated that there is a sign
on a small section of Lick Street the reads " No maintenance from November 1
to April 1 . "
There . was some discussion over road frontage and examples of people
trying to make public road ways into private roads were given by Mr . Twigg
and Mr . Raymond ,
Mr . Evans brought to the members attention that there must be structure
of regulations . Things must -be given straight-out in order to prevent any
misunderstandings . He also pointed out that towns. havc� been taken to the
Supreme Court ,
L . Raymond moved that the meeting be adjourned which was seconded by
G . Evans . The meeting adjourned at 10 : 10 PM .
