Hearing was opened by Supervisor Robinson .
Clerk read legal notice of Preliminary Budget Hearing as published in the
Groton Journal and Courier on October 23 , 1985 .
T . Robinson : The first- item we ' ll take is the Federal Revenue Sharing
Budget . This is how we propose to use monies :
Oil and Stove $ 10 , 269 . 00
Machinery 20 , 000 . 00
Gad- A-Bout 2 / 000000
Groton Day Care 3 , 000 . 00
Human Services Coalition 48 . 00
' 359752 . 00
We have moved signs to the General Fund . Rules for
Federal Revenue Sharing are strict and. we must adhere to
them . A lot of Towns depend on Federal Revenue Sharing ,
but we do not .
Are there any questions regarding the Federal Revenue
Sharing Budget ?
T . Robinson : This is the Groton Fire Department Budget , any questions ?
We ' ll now go over Summary of Town Budget ( Explained
difference between Whole Town and Part Town )
Are there any questions ?
D . Cummings : How much is the amount to be raised by Tax up over last year?
T. Robinson : About $ 30 , 000 , 00 .
Tax Rates are as follows :

T . Robinson : This represents a . 430 increase over last year . Insurance is
the biggest item . We have no idea what liability insurance
will cost us . Our present liability has been cancelled. as
of January 1 , 1986 . We are looking into other carriers .
T . Robinson : Does the Board have any further questions or changes on
the Preliminary Budget , Federal Revenue Sharing Budget ,
or Fire Budget ?
L . Cornelius : I move the Board adopt the budget as presented at hearing .
C . Pierson : I second that motion .
T . Robinson : If there are no further comments , hearing is closed at
8 : 00 P . P4 .
