Pierson read the Notice aloud which was published in the Journal and Courier on October 19 , 1977 , a copy of which is on file in her office . L . Sovocool : This year they want $ 13 , 700 and last year it was $ 12 , 700 , C . Pierson : Right . V . Rankin : We ' ll be paying them $ 21 , 375 for both services , right ? C . Pierson : Right . V . Rankin : 0 . R . , - - that ' s raised by taxes , - - taxing the people . M . Dempsey : blow is the ambulance raised ? V . Rankin ; By taxing the people outside the Village . What does that amount to five cents on a thousand dollars ? L . Sovocool : Both of them will go up five cents an - right ? V . Rankin : That would make it about $ 1 . 05 , doesn ' t it or a little more than that ? A . Heffron : Yes , but that is not what it ' s going up , - - it will only go up about ten cents a thousand combined . Last year it was . 95q approximately . V . Rankin : This may be a little more than five cents . A . Heffron : Yes , I just don ' t know where the heck all of our expenses are going to stop , - - not only for the Fire Department but everything else . V . Rankin : Well , our big thing right now is fire . L . Sovocool : What do they pay electricity on an an that building out back , not the main building ? - 1 - A . So this really isn ' t , - - they are giving us a budget of what little things they make off the carnival- - L . Sovocool : I think that figure is wrong . I think they made over $ 4 , 000 on the carnival . I think they reversed the pool and carnival figures . I don ' t think they made $ 4 , 000 on the pool . I ' d say the pool would be about $ 2 , 000 , A . Heffron : They took over the Gun Club pool , too , didn ' t they ? So they are running two of them now .
