PUBLIC HEARING ON 2013 PRELIMINARY BUDGET
PUBLIC HEARING ON 2013 FIRE & AMBULANCE BUDGET
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2012 AT 7:00 PM
THE TOWN HALL, 101 CONGER BOULEVARD
Those present: Glenn E. Morey, Supervisor
Ellard L. Sovocool, Councilman
Donald F. Scheffler, Councilman
Richard B. Gamel, Councilman
Sheldon C. Clark, Councilman
Also present: Charles Rankin, Lester Coit, Robin Cargian
Supervisor Morey moved to open the Public Hearing, seconded by Councilman Gamel,
at 7:02 pm.
Ayes - Sovocool, Scheffler, Gamel, Clark, Morey
The Public Notice was read by the Deputy Clerk as published in the Town's official
paper, the Groton Independent with additional advertisement in the Freeville Shopper.
There being no comments from the public, Supervisor Morey moved to close the Public
Hearing, seconded by Councilman Scheffler, at 7:05 pm.
Ayes - Sovocool, Scheffler, Gamel, Clark, Morey
Supervisor Morey moved to open the Public Hearing on the 2013 Budget for the Groton
Fire & Ambulance Service, seconded by Clark at 7:05 pm.
Ayes - Sovocool, Scheffler, Gamel, Clark, Morey
Fire Chief Lester Coit expressed his gratitude to the Board.
There being no other comments from the public, Supervisor Morey moved to close the
Public Hearing, seconded by Councilman Scheffler, at 7:07 pm.
Ayes - Sovocool, Scheffler, Gamel, Clark, Morey
Charles Rankin, Bookkeeper, had a few comments concerning the Tax Cap and the
leeway that there will be for next year's budget.
There being no further comments on the budget, Councilman Gamel moved to
adjourn, seconded by Councilman Scheffler, at 7:09 pm. Unanimous.
