Supervisor Morey explained the changes in the proposed road use law was in
highlighted areas and asked if the price set for the bond and bank credit was
acceptable. Attorney Casullo read from other town road laws to give examples.
Councilperson Gamel asked Superintendant Case what his thoughts were on
$1,500,000 bond.
Superintendent Case explained that he called several towns to inquire about their road
use laws. He reminded the board of the total budget figure for highway was around
$250,000. He gave insight as to the majority of truck traffic routes, which ones are
maintained by the town and how data has been and continues to be collected on
Town highways.
Attorney Casullo inquired if the board was happy with the 45 day limit for suspension of
permits in the revocation section, as well as the $10,000 sum for expenses. He will make
the necessary changes into local law form to be sent to the Superintendant, Town
Board and Town Clerk for presentation at the next Town Board meeting.
Councilperson Smith brought up an e-mail from Tompkins County regarding
intermunicipal communication of any road use projects. Supervisor Morey suggested
the Highway Superintendants meet monthly and it would be best handled through
them.
