TOWN OF GROTON - BUDGET WORK SESSION
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2000 AT 7:00 PM

Also present: Liz Brennan, Colleen D. Pierson, (Absent: Richard Case)
Supervisor Morey explained appropriation and revenue accounts including explanation of .1, .2,
.4, etc. Reviewed and discussed General Town Wide and Part Town proposed expenditures for
2001.

Colleen made coffee – Glenn brought donuts.

Board went over General and Highway Budgets. Supervisor Morey set Monday, September 18
for Rick Case, Arthur Dawson and Colleen Pierson to come in and explain their departmental

requests for the 2001 Budget. Wednesday, September 20 at 5:00 PM was set for Highway
employees’ negotiations.
Adjourned meeting at Noon until Monday, September 18, 2000 at 7:00 PM.

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2000 AT 7:00 PM
Those present: Glenn E. Morey, Supervisor

Absent: Duane T. Randall, II, Councilman
Also present: Arthur Dawson, Rick Case, Liz Brennan, Colleen D. Pierson.
Supervisor Morey had Rick Case explain the proposed highway expenditures for 2001.
Judge Dawson explained his and Judge Heffron’s requests, including Court Clerk’s hours and
expenses for the 2001 budget.
Colleen explained her expenditures for the year 2001. Clerk’s Contractual will remain the same.
Deputy Clerk’s hourly rate increase was based on a 3%, 3.5% or 4% increase for a 7 hour work
day with $10,500 budgeted for 1430.1, Personnel, $6,000 budgeted for B8010.12, Zoning and
$1,500 budgeted for B8020.12, Planning. (Total Budget: $18,000) $600 contractual is for
attending Annual NYSTC Association Conference. $200 contractual is for local meetings and
workshops that Clerk or Deputy should attend.
Clerk did not receive a work sheet for cleaner’s expenditures. Bookkeeper will put in for same
amount as this year, which will cover any raise for 2001.
