Jack Fitzgerald, Atty., reported on Anderson case -- Judge Rose heaxd
settlement. 4nderson has new Attorney, Leslie Cohen, the third. Attorney
in as many times in court,. Ad)ourned until June 8. Agreed within 10 days
to Confession of Judgeinerct in County Clerk's Office t,o reimburse ToLern
$6000 to clears up 198,x. mess- and a blank moxtgage tl�) reimburse Town fox
this clews up. Problem with County i.s that they don't want to pay,
Contempt proceeding is pending.
Board ieoLbers discussed purchasing f�xrnituxe and building benches in
Court Room. [Money has already been set aside for this. We Ehould get
quotes from carpenter's to build bench. Wayne Staffords name wa.s mentioned

n addition to those Superviser was going to contact. Supervisor emptied
'box of furniture samples and quotes on oaxd table for board to look at.
Board decided to leave it up to the Supervisor to order furniture. Drop
box has been ansta led and "Groton Town Building" sign has been put up,
Barg Wood - Interior is essentially completed. There are carpet repairs,
the cleaning and exterior painting to be done. Ide will not 'be paying
contractor` any more money. Labor' Department is still having pr'oble'ms
with Uni,Cox' and Rosenthals. Corney has been doing cleanup work and paving
of parking lots. We do ne'ad an ice shield this is our problem and I
will look into.
Annual road inspection was scheduled. for Friday, Maxoh 30th at 9:OO AwMs

Purpose of meeting was to schedule a hearing to inform the public on the
I;own's intent, to submit stn application to the U.S. Department of Housing
and Urban Development for funding under its Fiscal Year 19.89 Community
Development Block Gxant Fncogram. The maxiir�am amount for the grant
application i8 400"OOO.
Moved by �7r. VanBenschoten, seconded by Mr. Cummings, to schedule a public
hearing to inform public on the Town's intent to subirat application for
funding under Community Development Block Grant Program to be held on
Monday, April 9, 1990, at 8:4PM at the Town Hall. Ayes - VanBenschoten,
Canmings, Robinson Haynes in favor of via phone }.
Certified letters ;from Mr. �ariiel J. McAuley, Director, New York Mate
Social Security Agency were givers to Board Members present to ream. Requests
for infoxmation regarding possible Social Security wage reporting erxors
that may have occurred during 1986 wexe sent to the Supervisor on Octobe x 10,
November 15, D4�cember 18 and January 24. Letter dated March 19 to the
Supervisor ied to Leland Cornelius, Colleen Pierson and Jack Fitzgerald,
Attorney fax Town, was notification that State Aid papnents due the Town of
Groton have been suspeftded until further` notice. Board Members asked
Supervisox what this was about and how much money is involved, Bupexvisor
said about $400. Board asked why it hadn't been taken care of, 'Supervisor
Robinson said she hadn't had time and I don't type. Town Olexk said, "'gait
a Minute, you never gave it to me to type. I have always typed anything
for you that you bxought in my office, including W -2's which I typed
three times,'1 Supervisor said, "Carol refused to do typing for me ".
Clerk said, "I don't believe that" and called Carol in. Carol said, "Teresa,
I never refused to do any'6Ftyping fox you and don't call me a liar. You
know where I'm going today and its because of this office," Bupervisox,
Clerk and Board. Members discussed internal problems including highway
employees low morale.

It was decided that the entire board should meet this coming Monday night
at 7:30 P.M. to air problems. All present agreed.
