Received letter from Karen Pasterello of 45 Stevens Road, McLean, requesting
a "speed limit" or "slow children playing" sign in the vicinity of 45 Stevens
Road. Majority of traffic does not obey current 35 miles per hour speed limit.

SPEED LIMIT SIGNS ON STEVENS ROAD

RESOLVED, that the Torn Board of the Town of Groton does hereby request
that the Tompkins County Highway Department consider additional speed
limit signs in the vicinity of 45 Stevens Road, McLean.
RESOLUTION N0. 61 - APPROVAL OF 1990 SNOW REMOVAL CONTRACT

RESOLVED, that the Town of Groton enter into an agreement with the
County of Tompkins for removal of snow from County roads and sanding
of same for the period January 1, 1990 through December 31, 1991•
Payment for same shall be $2,24-2.00 per two -lane mile for the year 1.990.
The amount paid per two -lane mile will be adjusted each year by the
percentage change in County billings to the State for snow and ice
removal work performed during the preceding winter season (Oct. - April.
There being no further business, Mr. VanBenschoten moved to adjourn meeting,
seconded by Mr. Haynes, at 7 :00 P.M. Unanimous

Claim Nos. 298 to 325 of the Highway Fund in the amount of $37,377.70 and
Claim Nos.553 to587 of the General Fund in the amount of $16,767.86 were
presented for audit. Moved by Mr. VanBenschoten, seconded by Mr. Sovocool,
that the bills be approved for payment. Ayes - Sovocool, VanBenschoten,

Town has had two audits in a row. Very frustrating and questions galore.
There will be an audit report Thursday at 9:00 AM for Town Board members
and Officials. Supervisor gave brief summary of audit report toBoard members.

RESOLUTION NO. 64 - CAPITAL RESERVE FUND PAYMENTS

RESOLVED, that the Town Board does hereby authorize the payment of
the following at the recommendation of the Clerk -of- the- Works:
1) S & S Mechanical - $1970.53 (completes payment)
2) Burns Electric (Formerly Freiji) - $5500.00
3) Diamond Roofing - Repair puncture in membrane - $200000
Gary Wood reported that Mike Hovanic of Uni -Cor is workincAclosely with
bonding company. Money should'start to flow . Uni -Cor expects $54,000
but Town owes only around $20,000. Hardware will be changed. Stan Gamel,
Barry Francis or Wayne Stafford were naane+uggested to complete project.
CS &K installed blue roof.
Gary Wood,Zoning Officer, reported 64 building permits were issued todate
for 1989,83 in 1988, 69 in 1987 and 58 in 1986. He ha4wo court cases
going -- Ayers and Preaston. Gary recommended Tom Neidercorn as engineer
for Town on the Cornelius property project on South Main Street Extension.
RESOLUTION NO. 65 - AGREEMENT WITH TOMPKINS COUNTY SENIOR CITIZENS
COUNCIL

RESOLVED, That the Town Board of the Town of Groton does hereby
agree to contract with the Tompkins County Senior Citizens Council
with matching funds in the amount of $405 to go to Groton Senior
Citizens for their trips.
Supervisor has a used copier the Justice Court is trying out. The cost
is approximately $1600. would like Town & Village to purchase together
but Village Clerk said they have no money right now. No decision made
at this time. Supervisor to check with Village again.
