PRESENT: Ann Chaffee, Steve Givin, Henry Hansteen, Dan Walker
ABSENT: Poney Carpenter
OTHERS PRESENT: Alan Teeter, Code Enforcer
Dan Walker called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
Dan Walker made a motion to accept the minutes of the May 4, 2017 meeting. Henry Hansteen
seconded the motion. Minutes passed unanimously.
Updates on projects:
Dollar General on Mecklenburg Road has started their store construction.
Wind Turbines (Black Oak Wind Farm) nothing new to report. Black Oak Road needs to be
repaired by county.
Renovus Solar has foundations for solar panels in the ground on Mecklenburg Road behind
Snug Planet.
The Town Of Enfield Moratorium On Commercial Wind And Solar Energy Facilities passed. A
Renewable Energy Advisory Committee will be formed to work on a solar law and update and
changes for the wind law. Dan Walker and Mike Carpenter are members of the Committee.
Comprehensive Plan Committee is working on the Plan. Dan Walker reported he is working
on maps for the Plan. They want to maintain the rural nature of the town as their major goal. They
do not want to see a lot of farm land being taken by housing. The Plan should be reviewed every 5
years.
Site Plan Review Law still needs approval on the changes from the May Planning Board
meeting, “Suggested changes under Article II, Applicability, Exemptions, and Review Standards –
Section 2.1 Application to Land and Projects – A. 1. Construction of any large structure (10,000
square feet or more) should be changed to (5,000 square feet or m ore). This would require a review
of the project.”
Alan Teeter reported that in the near future he may be subdividing some of his land.
The Planning Board needs to check for training through the Association of Towns.
Ann Chaffee made a motion and seconded by Steve Givin to adjourn the meeting. Meeting
adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
