PRESENT: Ann Chaffee, Joe Dawson, Steve Givin, Henry Hansteen, Rich Teeter, Dan Walker
OTHERS PRESENT: Alan Teeter, Code Enforcer
Dan Walker called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
Steve Givin made a motion and seconded by Henry Hansteen to approve the minutes for the January
3, 2018 meeting. Motion passed unanimously.
Dan Walker discussed future training for Planning Board members.
Dan Walker requested the Board appoint a Vice Chairperson. Steve Givin made a motion to appoint
Henry Hansteen. Henry Hansteen accepted the request and motion passed unanimously.
Dan Walker discussed in general the By-laws of the Board. There was also general discussion
regarding the Site Plan Review Law.
Dan Walker reported that the Energy Committee is still meeting and they are close to finalizing a solar
law for the town. The Town Attorney will need to review the law especially in regard as to who would
be lead agency and involved agency. Depending on how the Planning Board would be involved in
reviewing any Solar Farm applications, a Town Board member would be asked to sit in on meetings
regarding Solar Farms.
There was discussion on how solar is sold with net metering and how NYSEG handles solar.
Alan Teeter reported that the 2015 - 2016 building codes are currently used in the state and there
should be an update on the codes soon. There have been a couple of permits submitted for new
homes being built in the town in the spring.
March 17 there is a workshop regarding working and planning for agriculture at t he Ramada Inn in
Ithaca that Planning Board members are invited to attend. Richie Teeter and Joe Dawson stated they
will be attending the workshop.
Henry Hansteen made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
