Japhet Byram, the youngest child, was the namesake of his maternal
grandfather in Byram Twp., New Jersey. At the time his family moved to Enfield
New York, he was about 3 years old. He and his young bride, Eliza Beardsley,
apparently lived with his parents. The 1825 N.Y, Census seems to include
Japhet, Eliza, their first son and daughter, and his parents, Asahel and Hannah
(probably the female whose death occurred the year proceeding).
