The salute to the flag was followed by prayer from our Chaplin, Fern Ferris. Roll was called with 8 members present. The minutes were read and approved. The treasurers report was--read.with present bals.nce of $312.54. Dele. Report: Fern informed that June 24th. is date set for Picnic in Brooklydale also that over 100 booster ads (to date) have been collected. Annabelle reported on the T.C. meeting McLean that fern, herself and Lena attended, on the 26th. of April. Two travel agents were truest speakers and gave informative info. on traveling alone, packing and staying st Motels. We supplies more then enough relishes, so we each took some. Communications: Received info. letter from Roberta Huyck, President of Central L.A.. Last meeting before Convention is June 5th. at Morrisville Fire Station. old Timers, Gay Timers Banauet on May 15th. in Cortland at the Fire Station She psk&d that we send names of any deceased members to Irene Hubbell for the yearly Momorial Serive. Roberta enclosed 19o2 Convention Scheduel to be held in Cortland at the Holiday Inn. } t Bills and Accounts: Fern turned in bill for 14-09 for relished made for McLean .Joint meeting. Bools Flowers bill of 10.70 paid. Lena E. turned in receipts and 3.05 that was left over from 30.00 that was given to her from treasury for items purchased for Life Member Lucheion. Check for 23.00 sent to Rada Co, to order knives. Anvs. for New Members: none Old Business: Annabelle gave brief report on trip tbus tour) to Hudson, New York Firemens Home. Talked with John Casey and told us alittle about him. John is in a wheel chair right now but will soon be walking with cain, took pictures and will bring, to next meeting. 24 people were on tour this year. Brief discussion on m archiing this year. Still questionable at this time, but Nan, Fern, and Annabelle are considering to march. Annabelle will rewrite Comm. Cal. letter from last year to be sent to community. Will call Larry Ssulsgiver about xeroxing for us. Diane Bailey has the list of Cal. Routes that we'll need. Deadline date for money to be turned in from customers should be included on letter. (July 15th.) 11 • 0 Mqy Meeting con 't. New Business: Linda Stilwell said she would hove Lprry look at the Snow Cone Machine, if it can be pepaired to to use at Festival. Lens will type sheet master of raffle tickets to be copied. Ticket is for afghan that will be raffled at Carnival and should include the following info.-. sponcerea by; ciateo cost, item, drawing date nerve, 9dress and phone number of purchaseer. Diane Bailey at 7:10. The salute to the flag was followed by the Lords prayer. Roll was called with 12 members present. The minutes were read and approved, treasurer's report, was given with a balance of $308.30 . Dele. Report; none Communications: none Bills and Accounts; none App. for New Members; none isOld Business: Nan, Pam W., Lola, Annabelle and Lena will work together on letter to be sent on Calendar. Because of our cost to the company, prices of the calendar are roised•to the following; $1.50 'cal. with no listings) 2.00 t " with one listing) 2.50 t " with one to six listings) .10 more, for each additional listing. The Ad price will remain the same. ($20.00) Act customers need to be notifed by phone and asked if they would like to advertize main this year. Lena E. will call the top part of the calendar, Is Deasne S. volunteered to c all bottom portion of customers. Linda Stilwell and Nan L. volunteered to be the organizers in charge of the Kiddie Parade and will give out the prizes. Shirley Holcom will be a judge again this year for us'. Lena E. will purchase the toys for the parade. Linda Stilwell suggested that we move the Calendar Booth to the Loud Speaker area, all -present agreed "good idea". Pam W. volunteed to sit in area and take calendar orders, sell raffle tickets for afghan, and also sell paring knives. Lena Everhart will make poster for calendar booth, Linda H. will make copies of raffle ticket master sheet, Lena typed and give to Pam Thursday, June 24tb. Lena will be in charge of the cake-wheet Friday night, getting needed items and making numbers. Will not be available Set. but will work both shifes Fri. Because of our cost to Rada Company, prices of the Darin,-- knives are $1.50 each. Annabelle had made the motion and -Hester s econded it. H Ii C U . 11 U LI LI LI Each member is again asked to make 3 dozen cup -cakes and two cakes. The following volunteered to bake beans for barbecue; (Lola, Nan, Doreen L., Hester, Lens, Diane, Annabelle and Deanse S. ) Will meet at the fireball after the Kiddie Parade to mix salad for barbecue. Men plan to have 850 halfs of chicken this year, after discussion and looking at records of past years the following is needed; 2j cases of each kind of beans 29 pounds of macaroni 20 doz. eggs 25 green peppers l- 21b. bag of carrots 25 onions 5 bunches of celery 7 gals, of mayonnaise Diane B. vill purchase vegetables and Nan will cut and process. The following will cook the macaroni; Annabelle Len a (16 lbs.) (10 lbs.) ( 9 lbs.) • Lena will notify girls not present, asking for their help, working any area end time they are available.
