HomeMy WebLinkAboutJuly 18 2025 - Town of Enfield Special Town Board Meeting Minutes1 Town of Enfield Special Town Board Meeting July 18, 2025 6:30 PM In-Person and virtually via the Zoom Meeting Platform Present: Town Supervisor Stephanie Redmond; Town Councilpersons Cassandra Hinkle, Jude Lemke, and Robert Lynch; Highway Superintendent Buddy Rollins; Town Clerk Mary Cornell. Excused: Town Councilperson Melissa Millspaugh. Call to Order: Supervisor Redmond called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM Privilege of the Floor: N/A Additions and Changes to the agenda: N/A Correspondence: N/A Business: RESOLUTION #2025-59 AUTHORIZING THE HIGHWAY SUPERINTENDENT TO USE UP TO $70,000 FROM THE EQUIPMENT RESERVE FUND TO PURCHASE A 2022 JOHN DEERE MOWER TRACTOR. WHEREAS, the Highway Superintendent has requested to use up to $70,000 from the equipment reserve fund to purchase a 2022 John Deere Mower Tractor to replace the 2004 Mower tractor, and WHEREAS, the purchase of the John Deere would be used to replace the 2005 Case IH 4x4 Tractor with Mower, and WHEREAS, the replacement had been estimated to cost $121,000 in the Capital Plan and the proposed purchase represents a significant cost savings, now therefore be it RESOLVED, the Town Board authorizes the Highway Superintendent to use up to $70,000 from the equipment reserve fund to purchase a 2022 John Deere Mower Tractor. Supervisor Redmond moved and Councilperson Lemke second. Discussion: Councilperson Lynch asked Highway Superintendent Rollins to explain more about the tractor and purchase. Councilperson Lynch stated that this tractor was going to be purchased by the Town that the Town Board has the right to know more about the tractor. Supervisor Redmond stated that all of the information is in the resolution. Buddy replied that he had sent pictures and a description of the Mower Tractor to the Town Board with the special meeting request. He asked Councilperson Lynch what questions he had. Councilperson Lynch asked for more details and Buddy responded with Its’s green, it’s got a cab, it has air conditioning, it’s got a mower, and it has 4 tires. What more would you like to know? Councilperson Lynch stated that he went to the Town of Arcadia and asked the Highway Superintendent about the mower tractor and brought that information back to the Town Board, which he shared with those present. Councilperson Lynch stated that another town is interested in the tractor and it may go over the $80,000 and it may be closer to $85,000. Discussion continued. 2 Vote: Aye: Hinkle, Lemke, Lynch, and Redmond. Nay: 0 Carried.
