Second Book – First entry March 4, 1908 – last entry July 23, 1977. Those entries in Book 1 from Sept. 3, 1922 to Oct. 29, 1925 are recorded in this book. Third Book continues from July 1977 to current. Danby Players Give “Cranberry Corners” at Enfield June 5 A comedy drama entitled “Cranberry Corners” will be given at McFall’s Hall on Tuesday evening, June 5 by the Danby Dramatic Club under the auspices of the Ladies Aid Society of the Baptist Church. Frank Teeter has returned home from Ithaca Hospital and is much improved. Several Masons of this place attended the Trumansburg lodge meeting last Monday evening. Seth Teeter and family of Hornell and Mrs. Ella Rumsey and her daughter Irene of Ithaca were guests of Lida Teeter over the weekend. – May 25, 1923 – Ithaca Journal. Enfield Valley – Miss Minnie Wallenbeck correspondent. The Enfield Dairymen’s League will hold a special meeting in Teeter’s Hall on Saturday evening at 7:30. – for the purpose of electing eight association directors and transacting other business which may come before the meeting. A bake sale will be held on Saturday at the C.J. Rumsey and Co. hardware store in Ithaca for the benefit of the Baptist Church of this place. Irene Rumsey of Ithaca visited friends here Sunday. Mr. And Mrs. Fred D. Rumsey spent Sunday afternoon in Trumansburg. Mrs. Hannah Ross is visiting her sister in Lansing Michigan. A memorial sermon will be given by the pastor Rev. H. Rea in the Baptist Church on Sunday at 11. – May 24, 1923 – Ithaca Journal. Enfield Center School will present play “Billy’s Aunt Jane”. The students and friends of Enfield Center school will give a play entitled “Billy’s Aunt Jane” in McFall’s Hall at Enfield Center Friday evening at 8:30 Cast of characters is as follows: Professor Stephens - Edwin Lokken; Billy Blakesley - Kyrle Burlew; Tom Burke – Eugene Leonard; Ralph Peters and his classmate Harry Hunter – Robert Hubbell and George Rea; Philader Wells – Fred Personius; Decon Podger – Leslie Smith; Sam Johnson – Harlan Ross; Mrs. Jane Briggs – Nellie Updyke; Miss Wiggins – - Ruth Beardlsee; Dora Grant, Alice Monroe, Bertha Wright and Anna Moxley, students at Bellmore,- Katherine Rothermich, Elsie Updyke and Ester Lokken; Katie Murphy – Tina Lokken. – May 17, 1923 – Ithaca Journal. The Enfield Historical Society has started a program on Genealogy Research, give me a call if you are interested in attending one our meetings. Recently while research my Thompson Family I came across some Enfield Family data from the Dewitt Historical Society Bulletin September 1967: Nivison Family Bible, which was in the possession of Pearle and Sarah Nivison (1965). Samuel Nivison and Malinda Thompson married Dec. 26, 1820 (Samuel Rolfe Esq. Enfield). Lydia Nivison was married at Jacksonville May 6, 1836 to Nathan Kimble. Jared T. Nivison married Sarah L. Boyer Aug. 8, 1856. Nettie Nivison married John H. Weeks Aug. 18, 1880. Willie Nivison married Hattie Thompson January 4, 1887. Lydia Nivison born Enfield October 13, 1821. Nathan Nivison born Enfield Jan. 24, 1824. Nettie Nivison born Enfield March 26, 1859. Willie (Will Jared) Nivison Enfield July 3, 1861.
