Travis Tavern – Buck Hill road 1853 map Hotel – Buck Hill Road south and Mecklenburg Road, Wallenbeck Tavern – Fish ad Buck Hill Road South, Nathaniel Newman – Tavern in Enfield Center before 1812 (log cabin assumed) Teeter Hotel – Enfield Center, Samuel Harvey – tavern on the town line in 1808 innkeeper for many years, Woodside – Kuma Night Club – Rothermich and Mecklenburg Road, Applegate Tavern – bar Applegate Road, Newhart’s – Griffen Road, Willowood Campsite (Pinecreek) – Rockwell Road Churches: Baptist, Methodist, Living Water Kennedy Corners, Agape, Presbyterian, Christian Stores: Wortman – Newhart – Presbyterian Church, Store – Thalls – corner of Enfield Center and Enfield Main, Postoffice – Iron works Enfield Center and Enfield Main, Red and White Store – Enfield Center Valley Korners – Dandy, Partner’s Market – Gregg’s Junction Market, Stark’s Saddle Shop Grange Fire Hall – Old and New Government – Old and New Town Hall, Old Highway garage Schools: DISTRICT #1 - (TUBBS) located on the northeast corner of Aiken and Podunk Roads. DISTRICT #2 - (ROLFE) located on the east side of VanDorn Road north of State Route 79. DISTRICT #3 - (ULYSSES - ENFIELD) this district probably would have included property in the northeast corner of the town. Need more information! DISTRICT #4 - (MILLERS) located on the west side of Halseyville Road just north of State Route 79. DISTRICT #5 - (STONE SCHOOLHOUSE) located east side of Applegate Road south of State Route 79. DISTRICT #6? - (ENFIELD CENTER) appears on the 1866 map at the northwest corner of Rothermich and Fish Roads. Later located on Enfield Center Road west of Route 327 across from the Methodist Church. DISTRICT #6? - (ULYSSES - ENFIELD) --located northeast corner of Jacksonville and Iradell Roads. DISTRICT #7 - (WOODARD) located northeast corner Woodard and Hines Roads. DISTRICT #8 - (PURDY) located southeast corner of Bostwick and Colegrove Roads. DISTRICT #9 - (ROLLISON) (ENFIELD-HECTOR) located southeast corner of Route 79 and Black Oak Road. DISTRICT #10 - (THE LITTLE RED SCHOOL) Located on the east side of Connecticut Hill Road between Griffin and Rumsey Hill Roads. DISTRICT #11 - ( HARVEY HILL) located north side of Harvey Hill Road west of Route 327. DISTRICT #12 - this probably was a Town of Hector district with Enfield children attending. May have been at the end of Harvey Hill Road in the Town of Hector. DISTRICT #13 - (CHRISTIAN HILL) located southeast corner of Waterburg and Iradell Roads. Appears on the 1866 map at this site. DISTRICT #14 - (BUDDS) located near Budd Cemetery on the south side of Gray Road. Appears on the 1866 map. DISTRICT #17 - (SAXTON HILL) located southwest corner of Cayutaville Road (or Saxton Hill Road) and Black Oak Road (or Connecticut Hill Road) in the Town of Newfield.
