Marine Reserve Corps and left
Monday for training at the Marine
Base, Parris Island, S. C.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Otis T.
Drew of Ithaca RD 5, Otis C. Drew I
has been active in the rural life of
the county. He was a member off
the 4-H Council, the Future Farm-
irs of America, and active in young
people's religious work.
The Marine Corps recruit is all
neprew of the late Lieut. Frank E. j
Carrington, whose name is on the
first World War honor roll of
Tompkins County. He gave his life
it behalf of his country on Oct. 23,
1918, and Groton American Legion-
naires named their organization
Carrington -Fuller Post. Another
uncle, Lynn O. Carrington, is now
serving his 23rd year in the Navy I
as chief petty officer, and a third,
Leon I. Drew of Jacksonville,
served with the AEF in France in
1918.

ROBERT COON
Robert Coon, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Ernest Coon of 602 Cascadilla St.,
has enlisted in the Marine Corps
and has been assigned to Parris
Island, S. C., for training. Mr. Coon
attended Ithaca High School.

WILLIAM E. M'KAY
William E. McKay, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Arthur McKay of 326
Titus Ave., is an apprentice seaman
at the U. S. Naval Training Station,
Great Lakes, Ill.
He was graduated from Ithaca
High School in 1939. After that,
he worked for Paul Herron and
more recently has been manager of
the shoe department of Montgom-
ery Ward & Co. here. 1
McKay has been assigned to
Company 121 where mail will reach'
him.
